✨ LOOKING BACK AT OUR AWARDS NIGHT ✨

On Saturday 4th July, we celebrated another incredible year at Act One at the wonderful Life Church — and what a special evening it was! 🥹❤️

🌟One of our favourite parts of the night is celebrating the individual qualities and strengths that make every one of our students so special!

These awards are extra special because they are voted for by their own classmates. ❤️

There really is something so lovely about giving our children the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the people around them — those who show kindness, encourage others, bring positivity into the room and demonstrate incredible confidence in their own unique way.

At Act One, our ethos has always been about celebrating every child for who they are, creating an inclusive environment where everyone has their own strengths, talents and qualities to be proud of. 🌈✨

It’s not just about who is the best singer, dancer or actor — it’s about the wonderful people our students are becoming too. And we absolutely LOVE being able to celebrate that. ❤️

A huge congratulations to all of our Kindness & Confidence Award winners — you should be incredibly proud! 🥰

And a huge thank you to all of our Act One families, students and staff for making our Awards Night such a beautiful celebration of our amazing school community. ✨

🌟 A cast member journey we’ll never forget!

🇫🇷 Our leading man. Our Jean Valjean 🇫🇷

💫 Where on Earth do we start with this outstanding young man!! Our only regret ….. not having you with us for longer!!! We have spent an incredible 9 months getting to know you and watching you transform before our eyes into an incredible performer!! 💫

💜 Although you only spent 9 months with us, we have loved every second! You are a sponge and so eager to learn!! You practiced all the time and it showed! You are the perfect example of where hard work and total perseverance and dedication can lead you!

🌟 You are going to do amazing things with your talent and incredible work ethic! 🌟

🌟 Theo’s journey with Act One in his own words …….

My time here at Act One Beginners has been something that I will never forget. I have only been a part of this amazing family for 9 months with just doing Les Mis and it was definitely the best time of my life which I wish could have lasted forever. Doing this show is something that is indescribable in how much it meant to me. Every part of being involved in Les Mis, the friendships I made, the Sunday rehearsals, the kindest and most inspiring staff, it gave me something to look forward to every single week.

As soon as I stepped into the building, I already knew I had made the right decision to want to become a part of this family. I absolutely recommend this amazing theatre school to anyone who is interested in performing because it has helped me in so many ways in such a short time period. My vocal ability and performance has improved so much thanks to Leanne and Alice who were my biggest inspirations in rehearsals, my confidence has grown because of the always supportive and beautiful environment there, I have everything to thank Act One Beginners for. I want to also thank Alec and Sue especially for always having to fix the breakaway chair in Les Mis after I kept destroying it on stage!

Now setting off soon to my new drama school at The Brighton Academy, I am leaving this beautiful family knowing I have been a part of their unreal show and am honoured to have been casted as the leading man with all thanks to Leanne, who I know is the most most hardworking, amazing and dedicated person I have ever met and has made this cast’s dreams come true of being in this musical. To everyone I have met in my time here, thank you for everything because it has been so special, and now moving to Brighton, ANOTHER STORY MUST BEGIN!! 💜

🎭 INTENSIVE 2026 ……. Over & out!! 🎭

🎭 Yesterday morning was also our drama workshop morning with the lovely Lisa!! 🎭

💜 The group worked on improvisation pieces in two separate groups and came up with concepts for their drama performance part of our showcase! 💜

🌟 We majorly enjoyed today, putting the finish touches to our pieces for our showcase tomorrow evening!!! 🌟

🩵 An awesome day, with the afternoon spent at the amazing Encore Dance School! 🩵

🥵 IT WAS A SWEATY ONE! 🤣

🌟 Not only did we have two incredibly happy groups take part in a commercial dance class as part of our Intensive week - it was also awesome to be able to support, not only another local business - but a fellow woman in business!!

💫 Today really showed what nurturing students and implementing strong technique can do!

🤩 Amy, your patience and ability to work so well with so many different abilities was amazing! And you’ve created such a lovely space for your dancers 🤩
