Our First World of Work Visit! 🧵

As part of our World of Work initiative, our participants enjoyed their first workplace visit to the Workwear Embroidery Unit!

The wonderful team at Workwear gave our participants a behind-the-scenes look at the entire process of fulfilling a customer order — from processing orders and preparing garments to completing the embroidery and packaging finished products ready for dispatch. 📦

These visits are an important part of our participants' employability journey, helping them gain a better understanding of workplace expectations, teamwork, communication, attention to detail and the skills required in different job roles.

Experiences like these also help build confidence, broaden career aspirations and make the world of employment feel more accessible.

A huge thank you to the team at Workwear for welcoming us and taking the time to share their knowledge and experience!

🌟 Introducing Our World of Work Initiative! 🌟

At Enterprising Habits Ltd, we're excited to introduce our **World of Work initiative** as part of our Shaping Your Destiny project! 💚

Our aim is simple — to connect local people with employers, giving our participants the opportunity to explore real workplaces, discover different job roles and gain a better understanding of the world of employment.

Many of the people we support have the motivation and potential to work but may have had limited opportunities to experience working environments.

Through workplace visits, meeting employers and learning about different industries, we hope to build confidence, raise aspirations and help our participants take positive steps towards employment.

We're also inviting local businesses to become our World of Work Partners!

Whether it's welcoming a small group for a workplace visit, sharing your career journey or giving an insight into your industry, even one hour of your time could make a lasting difference.

We're not asking businesses to offer jobs — just an opportunity to inspire, encourage and open doors to new possibilities.

✨ Together, we can help local people see what's possible and build a stronger, more confident community!

🎓 Celebrating Achievement, Confidence & Progression

A fantastic day at the Chai Centre celebrating the achievements of our ESOL learners and recognising just how far they have come.

For us at Enterprising Habits, ESOL is about much more than learning English. Language builds confidence, independence and opportunity — helping people take their next steps into further learning, volunteering and employment.

It was a pleasure to welcome our special guest Cllr Raja Arif Khan, former Mayor of Burnley, alongside our valued partners from Burnley College, Rosie Fearn, Head of Projects and Partnerships, and Avril Pilling CMgr MCMI, Partnerships & Projects.

The certificates are important, but what matters most are the journeys behind them — people developing the confidence to communicate, participate in their community, volunteer, learn new skills and move closer to employment.

A huge congratulations to every learner who received their certificate. 👏🎓

And thank you to our partners and everyone involved in supporting our learners on their journey.

We were delighted to welcome Carole Garrett BEM to Chat & Chai Café for a warm and thoughtful conversation.

With five decades of experience in Burnley’s business community and a strong commitment to grassroots impact, Carole shared valuable reflections on enterprise, community and the difference local organisations can make. We also discussed how welcoming community spaces can bring people together and support connection and wellbeing.

⚽ Celebrating Diversity & Community Through Sport

A fantastic day at Burnley FC, watching Burnley Women take on Bristol City Women and meeting Head Coach Jackie Bachteler.

At Enterprising Habits, we believe sport can bring communities together and create opportunities for everyone. We’re looking forward to strengthening our partnership with Burnley FC and encouraging more women and girls, particularly from South Asian communities, to get involved in sport.

Great conversations, great football and an exciting step towards making sport more inclusive and representative of our local community. ⚽🤝
