It was a pleasure to welcome our local MP, Oliver Ryan, and his team to the Chai Centre yesterday for their community surgery.

Around 40 local residents attended to raise concerns, seek advice and access support on a range of issues.

While the surgery was taking place, our community café remained open as usual, continuing to provide a warm, welcoming space for local people to meet, enjoy refreshments and connect with one another.

Thank you to Oliver Ryan MP and his team for delivering this valuable service to our community. We look forward to supporting more initiatives that bring people together and improve access to local services.

A lovely day in Skipton! 🚤

Our ladies enjoyed a picnic, a relaxing boat trip, and some shopping while building confidence, developing communication and employability skills, and strengthening friendships. Another step towards empowering women to reach their full potential.

A privilege to spend time with an inspiring individual and dear friend, Shawaz Hussain, as he signed a copy of his book From Sight to Vision.

Shawaz lost his sight in 2011, yet transformed adversity into purpose, becoming an international motivational speaker, disability advocate and author who continues to inspire people across the world.

Our conversations in London centred around disability inclusion, empowerment and creating opportunities for others to thrive regardless of the barriers they face.

Some people lose their sight but gain a vision powerful enough to help others see new possibilities.

Thank you, Shawaz, for the signed copy and for your friendship and inspiration.

It was a pleasure to welcome Becca Grimshaw from the King’s Trust to our Chat n Chai Community Café today.

We had a great discussion about the fantastic opportunities available for young people aged 16–30 and how, by working together, we can help more young people build confidence, develop new skills, access training, gain volunteering experience and ultimately move into employment.

At Enterprising Habits, creating opportunities for young people has always been at the heart of what we do. Our Chat n Chai Community Café is much more than a café—it’s a welcoming community space where people can connect, volunteer, learn, and grow.

Strong partnerships are essential if we want to create lasting change, and we’re excited to explore how we can work alongside the King’s Trust to make an even greater impact across Burnley.

Be Prepared. Be Confident. Save a Life. ❤️

Yesterday our ladies attended a Basic Life Support session at the Victoria Mill building of UCLan University, Burnley, where they learned essential lifesaving skills including CPR, the recovery position, and how to use a defibrillator.

Participants gained the knowledge and confidence to recognise and respond to a cardiac arrest, helping them feel better prepared to act in an emergency.

A huge thank you to the team at UCLan, especially Nussrat Kazmi, for organising and delivering such an engaging and valuable session. Every person trained is another person who could help save a life.

💡 Taking Initiative & Building Confidence 💡

Participants stepped into the world of Dragons' Den, developing one of the most important employability skills: initiative — the ability to spot problems, create solutions, and take action.

Working in teams, they generated innovative product ideas and confidently pitched them to the "big boss", our Director, Anam Zubair.

The session helped participants build confidence, communication skills, creativity, and self-belief, encouraging them to think like future entrepreneurs and leaders rather than simply waiting for instructions.

A fantastic effort from everyone involved!
