Not all classrooms look the same ðĪĢ.
Ours sometimes is in a barn with dogs as class mates !
Creative writing today again, we looked at character building and quotes!
I'm so so excited to see the final piece of work , we have worked on this through the summer terms, building a story from a mind map and working right through to character building, scenes , blurb and front cover design.
All independent! I'm super proud of my student for taking a step out of his comfort zone, watching my theatrical teaching ðĪĢ, having the most distractive class mates and just going along with my bonkers way of education!
This short story, is going to be one of many! Because the farm school students are only writing a flipping book between the lot of them! All short stories, poems and mini bios will go into one very special book. I'm super excited about this, its going to be raw, reflective, wholesome and all round belting. These kids are our next generation and by eck do they have words to share , inspiration to empower and a ripple to create help and guide children and young people who need to see the light , the light that's always going to come through ðĪ.... actually grown ups could learn a few things too ð

"Look Georgie, I've crocheted this ear bonnet for Dancer" bellowed my student as she walked in the farm, like it was her safest place on earth. This young girl, stood walking towards me was so far away from where she was last year! She had smiles, confidence, zest and self belief. A young girl who once came quietly, unsure of herself and her own worth. She would always put herself down and the uncertainty of who she was would run through her dampend spirit . "I just love horse's " is all she knew , she didn't know how funny she was, how caring she was, how bright she was or how resilient she was.â ïļ
We have worked on all above, plus communication , body language, the value of feelings, emotional intelligence and the fact that discussion isn't always heated or directed in way to make you feel criticised. â
Rules and boundaries are non negotiable In all walks of life, to adhere, comply yet hold your own boundaries confidently with your own expectations. ðŦ
Being different, yeh.... this hits different at the farm because we are all a bunch of different sorts and once she knew that this dosnt really matter that phase of thought soon passed. Oh we laugh now that was ever a concern! She just needed to learn that she was enough ðĪ
Today, when she rocked up with a zest of life as sharp as a lemon yet so sweet as honey holding something she had taken her own time to hand craft for me ( well Dancer) was a reyt heart flutter for me. To know that these wonderful kids have thought about the farm , the animals and me in their own time is rad (or sick I think is the current term ðĪĢ).
I've said it before, we don't just play with animals here, it's more.. it's a deeper connection to building the kids up, teaching value, encouraging self belief and ultimately to let them gather their own thoughts and emotions and process them .ðą
But as a wise old man once said (Frank Gallagher ðĪŠ)
"we know how to party " and that we do! We celebrate just how flipping amazing we are!!!!
To me this wasn't just an ear bonnet! It's so so much more! ð

It's been so good to get back to my AP work today. Started day 1 of the new half term gurrrrrd! The Pitter patter of the rain didn't stop us from regulating our feelings, calming our nervous system and feeling some well needed wholesome vibes and love off the animals.
I've had some super powerful and deep conversations today with my students, all different, all at different points in the session and all as valuable and as always honoured they share to me to look for guidance, to offer support and a listening an ear between the sounds of the animals, the rain drops on our barn roof and the wind blowing are fresh bare faces.
I often reflect after, is it the break from coming when the school hols hit us? That they come back with an urge to share in safety, a place of peace and gap that's become between them and the animals? - creating moments of discomfort and realisation, when they have had time to themselves and process ?
Either way, I'm here! I'm ready and will always be.... just me, the animals and the weather that graces us. Forever honoured to be chosen by them âĻ.

That's a wrap on another half term hol at the farm and what a belting week weve had. Full of sunshine , happy kids , chilled out grown ups, loved animals and all the good vibes to shake a maraca too ðĪ.
It's been a joy to welcome new families and catch up with the OG's.
Once again, I thank you all for showing my farm the biggest respect and going with our quirky flow .
Me and my girls really do work hard to offer such a wholesome experience that's raw, natural and inviting . My farm animals have had a blast , enjoyed the attention and eaten like Kings and Queens.
Back to farm school Alternative Provision the last term of the school year . ðģ.
I can't wait to welcome back my students and get back to where we left off and make this a truly memorable time for them. A little bit bitter sweet as some of them are Yr 11 and this will be their last term with me.
Remember to keep chasing those dreams no matter how young or old you are... because I still have pinch me moments. Life is there for the taking, it ain't no dress rehearsal â.
Muck and love
