New SEND survey for children and young people
We’re pleased to share that our refreshed Children and Young People’s SEND Survey is now live.
Redesigned with direct input from children and young people through POWAR – our SEND Forum, it’s been shaped to be more accessible, engaging and meaningful. The short questionnaire asks children and young people with SEND about their experiences of support across education, health and care, and how well services are working for them.

The Early Years Sector is currently under a huge strain due to underfunding from the government.
Whilst here at nursery we keep additional costs such as lunches ect as low as we possibly can, that also means we are sometimes forced to choose what we can or cannot provide for your children.
This can be reflected in limited resources, loss of trips/outings, less staffing than we would choose and more.
Please take a moment to look at the slides in this link to help you understand the pressures we currently face to provide for your children and ask yourself
Would you do it or would you walk away?

Imagine you run a sandwich shop.
Let's say it costs you £1 to make a sandwich and you charge customers £1.10 per sandwich to make a profit to reinvest into your business.
Now imagine that one day, the government announces that it's going to pay for two free sandwiches a week for all working adults (in a bid to win votes).
The problem is they are only willing to pay sandwich shops like you 50p per sandwich to meet this promise. That's 50p less than it costs you to make them and 60p less than you normally charge for them.
Over the course of a year, this could result in your business losing thousands of pounds.
What would you do?

In light of the news that the education secretary has asked the Competitions and Markets Authority to look into the early years sector, we're resharing our free interactive explainer for you to share with families at your setting, to help them understand the problem with early years underfunding – and the impossible choices that settings are being left to make.

Roblox is one of the most popular video games among children 🔲
As a 'sandbox' title the game lets players create their own gaming experiences with Roblox Studio to build custom levels which can be shared online 🔲
Here are some of the risks of the game:
Online Play Risks - because Roblox connects random players across the world it can put younger players into an environment with anonymous users who could use the platform for nefarious reasons 👧
Mature Content - content is difficult to moderate throughout Roblox due to the numbers of games available - some of the games and experiences offered on the platform contact age inappropriate content 🔞
In-Game Spending - the majority of games within Roblox have extensive monetisation options usually through season passes or microtransactions 💷
Anonymous Players - the anonymity of users can leave players vulnerable to bullying, harassment and predatory behaviour 👤
Risk of Addiction - Roblox games can feature rewarding or satisfying mechanics that keep players coming back or persuade them to stay logged in for much longer 🎮
Scams - many of the games on Roblox feature collectible items, pets or characters, these objects whilst digital are worth a lot of real money on certain online markets - scammers will attempt to trade with younger users in the hopes of getting rare items that can be sold for real money 💷
Here is some advice for parents:
Monitor the Content 👀
Take Advantage of Tools - use the parental controls within the games itself and teach youngsters how to report and block other players 🚫
Play Together 🎮
Teach Online Behaviours - have an open conversation about the risks of online play and how to spend money wisely 🗣
