Next week it is forecast to be high temperatures.
Children who attend all day should bring suncream to keep at nursery to be reapplied after lunch. Parents need to sign to give permission for staff to apply the suncream. Please ensure your child has suncream applied before the start of the nursery session (staff will only reapply after lunch).
Children who do not attend all day do not need to have suncream in nursery as it should be applied by parents/ carers before they come to nursery.
Please ensure that your child brings a sunhat to nursery (with their name inside) and wear clothing that covers their shoulders.
Thank you

This week in the Rainbow Room we have been reading ‘Hooray for fish’ as our focus story. We found out that some creatures live in the sea! 🌊🦈🐟💦
We have -
🐠 Visited the fish in nursery (this was very exciting!) We spoke about the different colours and sizes
🐠 Sorted sea creatures by colour
🐠 Started to explore patterns, through sorting ‘spotty’ and ‘stripy’ fish
🐠 Used our fine motor skills to catch the fish with the net in the water tray
🐠 Been drawing and designing our own fish
🐠 Been painting under the sea pictures

Following recent tragic incidents involving open water, the Health Protection Team at Lancashire County Council are sharing this important reminder of how quickly situations can change.
Even on hot days, open water can be dangerously cold, and conditions are often unpredictable. Children and young people may not always recognise these risks.
Follow these key safety messages to keep everyone safe.

In the Rainbow Room, we have enjoyed lots of activities linked to our focus story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'.
We have been learning about the life cycle of a caterpillar and how they transform into butterflies, through singing our focus song 'Tiny Caterpillar' and observing having caterpillars in nursery.
We have been counting, threading, painting and we even had a caterpillar picnic. The children experienced tasting fruits linked to PSED 'keeping healthy'.

Last week we arrived at nursery to find that three of the duck eggs that were delivered had hatched in the incubator and we had three fluffy ducklings. Another one hatched shortly after nursery started the next morning.
They’re now all safely in their cage and we’re loving watching them grow and looking after them whilst they are with us.
