0.01 mol of Barium Hydroxide will react with 0.02 mol of water

and produce 0.01 mol of Ba(OH)2 and 0.01 mol Hydrogen gas

Therefore the reaction produces

0.01 mol barium ions
O.02 mol hydroxide ions
0.01 mol hydrogen molecules

A Incorrect ❌

O.02 mol of hydroxide ions.
Number of ions = 0.02 x 6.02 x 10²³

B Correct ❌

V = n x 24 = 0.01 x 24 = 0.24 dm³

C Correct ✅

C = n ÷ V
= 0.01 mol ÷ 0.5 dm³
= 0.02 moldm–³

D Incorrect ❌

Reacts with 0.02 moles of water

The two ions HBr will form are:

H+(aq) and Br-(aq)

A. Correct ✅

H+(aq) ions will react with carbonate ions to form carbon dioxide and water. So effervescence occurs due to carbon dioxide.

B. Incorrect ❌

Bromide ions will form AgBr a CREAM precipitate on addition of silver nitrates.

C Incorrect ❌

Bromide Ions will form AgBr a CREAM precipitate on addition of silver nitrate.

D. Incorrect ❌

No colour change and no precipitate formed. All the ions are aqueous.
