💙 Did You Know? Young People Aged 14+ Can Join Their GP's Learning Disability Register 💙
If your child or young person has a learning disability, they may be eligible to be added to their GP practice's Learning Disability Register. This is available across Lancashire and can help ensure they receive the right support when accessing healthcare.
✅ Being on the register can provide:
• Access to a free Annual Health Check from age 14 onwards
• Reasonable adjustments to make healthcare appointments easier and more accessible
• Better support and understanding of your child's individual needs by healthcare professionals
If you're unsure whether your child is on the register, contact your GP practice and ask. If they have a diagnosed learning disability, you can discuss having them added to the register.
Taking this simple step can help improve health outcomes and ensure young people receive the support they need as they transition into adulthood. 💙
