At Ridgewood Community High School we work alongside parents, students and the community with the intention of achieving solid trusted relationships which ultimately will reinforce the learning experiences for all our students. We provide a caring and safe learning environment for children and young adults with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. Many of our students possess unique talents and abilities which we successfully promote and nurture.

Last week we had a visit from Dawn at Panda Paramedic. All pupils were able to learn basic first aid skills and discuss people who helped us. We think they did a great job- even if we did have numerous staff wrapped in bandages by the end of the day!

πŸ‘ Work Experience in Action! πŸ‘
Some of our Year 10 and 11 pupils have been gaining valuable real-world experience this week through their placements at Downtown Community Grocery πŸ›’
Throughout the week students have developed key skills in teamwork, communication, and customer service - all while supporting an organisation that makes a real difference in the local community.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work, positive attitudes, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones. A big thank you to the team at Downtown Community Grocery for providing such a fantastic opportunity and to the support staff and Mr Carpenter for organising it. πŸ™Œ https://communitygrocery.org.uk/

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is all about spreading some awareness for mental health. Let's show our support by rocking something green with our uniforms. It's a great way to show we care and stand together. Remember, mental health matters, and a little bit of colour can go a long way! πŸ’š

One thing that makes the Pastoral team happy, is when we come across an agency who can support our children that we haven’t mentioned before. Who’s going to visit them over the holidays and let us know how it went?
