Yesterday in science, year 4 were looking at food chains. We looked at various living things and worked out which would eat which. We also learnt some new key vocabulary. These included: producer, consumer and predator. Well done year 4 for continuing to work hard.

Year 2 had a wonderful afternoon at St. Matthewโ€™s Church with Fr. Alex. We learnt all about the different artefacts found in the church such as the stained glass windows, the organ, the choir stalls, the pulpit, the sanctuary candle and font. The children gave fantastic answers and shared their knowledge of other faiths with Fr. Alex. Behaviour, as always was excellent. Thank you to our volunteers who made it possible. Well done Year 2. โ›ช๏ธ๐Ÿ˜€

Today in Year 5 we have been manipulating clay to create a design of the theme incarnation. The children have really enjoyed this challenge to use their creative skills and we remembered to put aprons on!๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yesterday, our Year 2 children enjoyed a computing lesson using 2Paint A Picture! ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ’ป
The children explored different tools within the program before learning about the work of Impressionist artists. Using the Impressionism template, the children then created their own fantastic digital artwork inspired by what they had learned. There was some great ICT skills.
Well done, Year 2! ๐ŸŒŸ

We love our new English unit in Year 3! Our focus text is the classic narrative poem The Spider and the Fly by Mary Howitt. We used a poetry map to learn the first verse off by heart and added some actions! ๐Ÿ•ท๐Ÿ•ธ๐ŸฆŸ

On Friday afternoon, year 4 started their Art topic of painting. Children were exploring using different colours to make various tints and shades. They learnt that when you mix white with colours they make a different tint (lighter) and when you mix black with a colour they make a different shade (darker).

In Year 3, we did some observational drawing in our Art learning. Due to the bad weather, we couldnโ€™t go outside to draw but we improvised and drew an apple instead! We had to think about shape and texture. We love being creative ๐Ÿโœ๏ธ

๐Ÿž The children in KS1 had a wonderful time bug hunting today! They loved exploring in our forest school, searching under leaves and logs, and discovering all kinds of fascinating insects. A fun adventure filled with curiosity, learning, and plenty of excitement! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ”
