We have an exciting career opportunity at our nursery in Burnham-On-Sea. There are 2 positions available one part time and one full time Early Years Practitioners to work both within our beautiful Baby & Toddler suite and Pre-School Sh*te. (We would also consider a job share for the right candidates).
The positions are to start at the end of November. We are looking for someone who is playful, enthusiastic and passionate to join our lovely team. We strive for a team of like-minded individuals who understand the importance of creating a nurturing environment for our children and families.
𝘞𝘏𝘈𝘛 𝘞𝘌 𝘊𝘈𝘕 𝘖𝘍𝘍𝘌𝘙:
✨HOLIDAYS – Nursery is open 51 weeks per year, closing 1 week at Christmas, so you will be guaranteed this week off, as well as bank holidays and free days to book with remaining entitlement. You will also receive your birthday off each year.
✨WELLBEING - A caring and supportive working environment where you will be valued for the amazing work that you do. Our staff are our best resource and we make sure they know it! We also arrange social gatherings and events around Birthdays and Chirstmas. We also provide lunch and small gifts throughout the year including your birthday!
✨PERSONAL GROWTH – We support all team members in continuing their professional development and encourage further training.
✨NEW CHALLENGES such as becoming confident with and teaching woodwork, cooking and beach school activities, risky play, Reggio Emilia, loose parts etc.

Today has been spent refreshing ourselves on pediatric first aid. It covers everything including CPR, head injuries, choking, burns, anaphylaxis, use of defibrillator and more. We ensure every member of our staff is pediatric first aid trained rather than the legal requirement which is 1 member of staff for the whole setting.

We have had a busy few days at Playaway! On Friday we had our first Boogie Beats session with the lovely Naomi. This class combines music and dance with carefully structured learning. It helps to develop confidence, coordination and social skills whilst children learn to express themselves in a friendly and relaxed environment!

Today we had the Dentist come to look at the 3 year olds teeth. She did this in small groups, firstly explaining the importance of our teeth and getting the children to look at their teeth with their own mirror. The dentist cleaned their teeth and applied Flouride. She will return every 3-4 months to re-apply the flouride and to check other childrens teeth!

Early Years Educator Apprenticeship at Playaway Day Nursery, Burnham-On-Sea - Find an apprenticeship We’ve introduced a new way to find and apply for an apprenticeship in England.

Large scale water play in our Pre-School suite. The children loved moving the tubes around the room to make it as big as possible, experimenting pouring water from different heights!

Just a reminder we are closed for Christmas from 5.30pm today and reopen on Tuesday the 3rd January 2023!

Hi all,

Just in case you haven't seen the sign on our road - National grid are closing Maddocks Slade from tomorrow the 23/11/22 - 28/11/22. The road will be completely closed so please do not attempt to park outside the nursery. Instead, please use the adjacent streets, there is also parking at the swimming pool if needed. Due to the closure we will try to reduce the time of our handovers so parents are in and out quicker - Please call us if you require additional information.
