☀️We have certainly made the most of the lovely weather so far this week ☀️

We've managed to stay cool by having fun in the paddling pools, running through the sprinkler, making mud pies, splashing in muddy puddles, making the most of the shade, drinking lots of cool fruit water, and when it got too hot 🥵, we had fun in our lovely new building with the air con on 🥶.

Gardening club 🪏 🌱

This morning the children spent some time planting some seeds, we planted carrots, kale, lettuce, pumpkins and runner beans. The children learnt about how we can look after our seeds to hopefully make them grow into some lovely vegetables for us to try.
The children also spent some time watering their plants that are already established, learning about water and sunshine helps our plants to grow 🪴🥕 🎃 🫘 🥬

As we are a member of the RHS school gardening, we’re hoping soon to complete our level 3 towards this certification.

🐝 World Bee Day 🐝

Today we have been learning all about the marvellous Bee 🐝

In the Caterpillar room 🐛 we have created bee pictures, played with bee sensory play and we have made bee shaped biscuits!
In the Butterfly room 🦋 we have explored how bees collect nectar and pollen from flowers 🌷 in order to create honey 🍯 We have also used craft materials to create our own bee pictures and looked at what a honeycomb would look like.

We’re hoping for some special visitors to come and talk to us about Bees in the coming weeks.

🌳 We have brand new purpose built facilities in Burley, surrounded by Nature, New Forest Ponies, Deer and Wildlife 🌼🐴🦌🐮.

🌲 In the forest, the children love to be together, exploring and learning about the forest and all it has to offer 🪵🐌🐞🪱🦉🦔🐿️🐾.

🌿 In our beautiful garden the children love making mud pies 🍂, pond dipping 🐟, lighting and cooking on camp fires 🔥, practicing yoga 🧘 and gardening 🧑‍🌾 to grow their own fruits and vegetables 🥕🍓.

We've scrapped lengthy planning sheets, instead we introduce provocations and invitations to play through In The Moment Planning and take time to enjoy spending quality time enhancing the children's learning.

We don't do 40 hour weeks, our maximum is 37.5 to prevent burnout and promote a better work life balance.

💚 Join our team 💚

Would you like to do some gardening, whilst reading a book and playing cars, all stood on one leg?!
Then now is the right time to join us in Early Years! We are searching for our next Early Years Room Leader to work 37.5 hours per week, between the hours of 7:45-18:00 Monday to Friday.

If you feel you could support children’s learning and development and you work well as part of a team, then we’d love to hear from you. 💚

Little Deers is a charity run Day Nursery with a brand new, purpose built building in Burley, we are surrounded by deer 🦌 and nature 🌺 and the children love visiting the New Forest where we can be together, exploring the beautiful surrounding area. In our garden, we utilise our pond for pond dipping 🐟 we bake and cook using the camp fire 🔥 we enjoy gardening 👩‍🌾 where we use our own produce, we practise positive mental health vibes 🧘 through yoga and above all, we have fun doing it all!

We have scrapped the same old lengthy planning sheets and the rigorous observations and we spend quality time with our children, with, in the moment planning. We introduce provocations and invitations to play to enhance our children’s learning.
