Welcome to all our students and staff as we begin a brand-new school term!

We hope you’ve had an incredible summer break and enjoyed your holidays…

…a HUGE thank you to two of our Friends of Ghyll Royd parents Felicity Towner and Sam Wharfe, for their hard work this morning creating this stunning balloon arch for everyone to enjoy and have their first-day pictures taken under🎈

Here’s to the 2026/27 school year and all the excitement it will bring!

WOW… did they do well! 👏

How do you capture years of school life in one incredible speech, shared with the whole school, parents and teachers?

You made us laugh, you made us cry, and you made us incredibly proud ❤️

You reminded us of everything that truly matters, and of all you have gained during your time at Ghyll Royd School, Pre-School and Nursery - not least the memories, friendships and experiences you'll carry with you for a lifetime. (Including the famous sausage sandwich and goggles retrieval!)

Be immensely proud of yourselves, Form 6.

You have achieved so very much, and in doing so, you've left your own lasting legacy at the school.

Break the Rules Day AND an England Football Outdoor Assembly! ⚽️

What a day! 🙌

On Friday, the children got to ‘break the rules’ with wacky hair, non-uniform, bright nails, giant cuddly toys... you name it! And wow, did they embrace it! 🤩

We even had a life-sized Stitch toy in Reception class!

Fantastic effort from everyone 👏

And because we always like to bring our A-game and then some! we took assembly outside! The children enjoyed a house sports challenge, recreating England's goals and earning points for their houses 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽️

The energy was electric, the music was pumping, and the pupils were full of excitement from start to finish. Every year group got involved, making it a brilliant way to end the week.
