Bunwell Primary School is a well respected rural village school of over 130 years standing; it was recently judged by Ofsted as a ‘good’ school and the behaviour and attitude to learning of its children as ‘outstanding’. However, as a small school of approximately 80 children, in a Victorian building, the support of parents and the local community is vital. As such, one of the principal roles of F
OBSA is to raise additional funds to ensure our children are well equipped and can enjoy the same facilities as larger schools. Fundraising by FOBSA over the last year has allowed the school to invest in an outdoor classroom complete with sun shade, various items of equipment, and for a new shed to be erected; it has also subsidised numerous school trips. This year, the charity’s committee are hoping to raise enough funds to invest in installing a renewable energy facility, which will both provide a way of reducing the school’s energy bill while at the same time help to educate the pupils about the importance of seeking alternatives to burning fossil fuels.
