Congratulations to all our E Years on a fabulous set of results that placed us in the top 25% of schools nationally for attainment in English and Maths.
Such great results happen because of the determination and commitment of students and we are proud of all their achievements.
Yesterday was such a joyous day as students celebrated and turned their attention to the next stage of their journey, either with us or at college.
Enjoy your last week before it all starts again!

Congratulations to our wonderful Upper Sixth students who achieved some of the college’s best ever results in their A Level and Cambridge Technical qualifications last week.
All their hard work over two years has paid off, with students again making much greater progress on their courses than the national average, and this has allowed them to move on to a fantastic range of post-18 destinations.
We have students going off to study Engineering, Medicine, Law, Veterinary Medicine, Economics and many more at some of the most competitive universities in the country, as well as a range of superb degree apprenticeships in Aerospace Engineering, Finance, Audio-visual and Police, among others.
Well done to you all, and thank you for sharing your Sixth Form journey with us at Freman College. We wish you all the greatest of success as you move into the next stage of your lives, and really hope you will come back to visit us to help inspire future Sixth Form students.

Friday was fabulous day at Freman. Hepworth won the Summer Sports Trophy which contributed to them winning the Sainsbury Cup this year. Congratulations to Ms Lord and all of Hepworth House.

Tutor groups then took part in a day of traditional games of rounders along with new experiences of tutor quizzing and taskmaster games.

But the day belonged to Ms Jones, who we said goodbye to after 22 years. From Assistant Head, to Deputy Head and ultimately our Headteacher, Ms Jones has been part of shaping the college into what it is today. We will greatly miss her deep care for students and staff alike.

We wish you all a happy and safe summer and look forward to seeing many of you in September to do it all again!

Another great experience for our scientists at the Big Bang science fair yesterday.
The students who took part in the competition enjoyed a range of activities and stalls in the NEC and Joshua, Jacob and Jamie were invited to showcase their project, 'Thermoelectric generation: using the Seebeck effect to generate renewable energy'. They were short-listed for a teamwork in Engineering award and did a fantastic job of demonstrating and explaining their project to hundreds of students from all over the country, judges, representatives from industry and even the Shadow Secretary for Education! Well done to all our teams!
This was on the back of some strong successes in the British Physics Olympiad which is a competition for Year 10 students. Charlie Paterson, Henry King, Marcel Pytel (year 10) achieved the gold award and so did Joe Hodge, Joshua Ballard and Ashton King.

Well done to all our E Years and Upper 6th who now have a well deserved break from their exams.
Well done also to our wonderful Lower Sixth students. Following a presentation by the Antony Nolan Trust last week, 39 of our students signed up to join the ANT donor register today, playing their part in the vital work ANT is doing in supporting cancer patients. Really impressive from our Freman Sixth Formers.

This week we said goodbye to our E Years and Year 13 as they head off on study leave.
We wish the E Yrs well with their GCSEs and Cambridge Nationals and look forward to celebrating your success in August.
With a heavy heart we say goodbye to our Year 13 who have been a truly awesome year group and the backbone of our great community. We wish them well with their exams and know they will go on to "be remarkable" in the words of Mr Abell.

We're delighted to announce our all weather pitch is up and running! It's been fantastic to have lessons and Senior and E Yr House Football using this great new facility.
