I offer professional piano and singing lessons, specialist vocal coaching, and inclusive community singing rooted in confidence, creativity and connection in S.Cambs. This job is a passion for us, and it brings us joy to be able to share this passion with our students. From day one, they learn important foundation techniques to help them boost their skills and self-esteem. Each student has a uniqu

SING FOR YOUR SUPPER – BRITPOP & BEST OF BRITISH!

Our next Sing For Your Supper is coming to The Chequers, Barley on Tuesday 1st September, and this month we’re celebrating some of the very best music Britain has given us!

We’re also delighted to welcome guest vocalist Stuart Nicholson, who’ll be performing live while we enjoy supper. Supporting and showcasing local singers and musicians has become a really lovely part of these evenings, so I’m particularly looking forward to introducing Stuart to you all.

If you’ve never been to Sing For Your Supper before, you do NOT need to be a singer!

This isn’t karaoke and nobody is asked to sing alone. We sit together around the tables, lyrics are provided via QR code, and I lead the whole room as one big group.

- 7pm – Guided group song & harmonies
- 8pm – Supper + live music from Stuart
- 8:45pm – Big singalong, with songs chosen from the hat!

Come on your own, bring a friend, bring your partner — it’s become such a friendly little community of people who enjoy singing, eating and being merry together.

🎤 Introducing The Vocal Lounge

A new online gathering for adult singers who want to understand their voices better, develop their vocal technique and connect with other people who simply love to sing.

Our first Vocal Lounge will take place:
📅 Monday 17th August 2026
🕖 7:00pm–8:30pm
💻 Online via Zoom

The evening will include:

🎶 45 minutes of guided vocal work

We will warm up together and explore practical exercises focusing on a particular area of vocal technique. You will learn not only what to do, but why the exercises work and how they can support your own singing.

💬 45 minutes of relaxed vocal Q&A

Ask anything about singing—from technique, vocal health and practice routines to performance nerves, microphones, difficult songs and preparing for gigs or rehearsals.

This is not a choir or a traditional singing lesson. There is no need to prepare a song, sing by yourself or be at a particular level.

During the online exercises, everyone will usually remain muted, so you can explore your voice comfortably from home.

The Vocal Lounge is open to all of my current and previous vocal students, as well as anyone who has attended Sing for your Supper or joined The Singing Circle community.

All experience levels are welcome—from complete beginners and people returning to singing, through to experienced, gigging and professional singers. After all, professional singers need to warm up, practise and keep developing their voices too!

☀️ It’s nearly time! ☀️

Tomorrow evening we’re back at The Chequers, Barley for another Sing For Your Supper, and I honestly can’t wait.

These evenings have become so much more than just singing. They’ve become a chance to meet lovely people, enjoy great food, have a laugh and spend a couple of hours forgetting about the outside world.

I started 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 with a simple idea…

What if we created a space where people could come together once a month, sing songs they love, share a meal, and enjoy a genuinely uplifting evening with other lovely people?

A few months on, that’s exactly what’s happening. 💛

It’s becoming such a lovely little community. Every month there are familiar faces returning, new people joining us, and friendships beginning over songs, supper and plenty of laughter.

People often arrive saying, “I’m not really a singer…” and by the end of the evening they’re singing away with everyone else.

Because that’s the beauty of it…

Nobody sings alone.

There are no solos, no pressure and no judgement. We simply scan the QR code for the lyrics, gather around the tables and sing together. Somehow, by the end of the night, a room full of strangers feels like a room full of friends.

And can we just talk about the food for a moment…? 🍽️

The 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 and have become just as much a part of the evening as the singing itself. Good food, good music and good company really is a winning combination.

For those who don't know me, I thought I'd leave one final introduction before stepping away from social media.

My work has never really been about followers, algorithms or online visibility. It's always been about people.

The child finding confidence through their first performance.
The adult discovering they can sing after all.
The musician learning how to care for their voice.
The room full of strangers becoming a community through song.

I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who has followed, supported, attended events, booked lessons, shared posts, and cheered me on over the years.

From here, you'll find me focusing on local connections, real-world community, live music, teaching, singing and creating.

🎶 THANK YOU! 🎶

The Layston Music Summer Shindig was an incredible success, and I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone involved.

Our young musicians have spent months preparing for this event. They’ve practised, overcome nerves, developed new skills and worked so hard to put together their performances. Seeing them perform with confidence in front of family, friends and the wider community made me enormously proud.

Music lessons are about far more than learning notes and chords. Events like this give young people the opportunity to build confidence, resilience, communication skills and a sense of belonging. Being part of their local community and sharing their music with others is every bit as important as the performance itself.

A massive thank you to The Chequers team. Pete built an amazing outdoor stage and ran sound for us all day long. Sam worked tirelessly in a very hot kitchen keeping everyone fed, while Lucy and the rest of the team kept the drinks flowing and looked after everyone with their usual warmth and enthusiasm.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, bought raffle tickets, cheered on our performers and supported the event.

Because of your generosity, we raised over £300 for PLRW Youth Group.

Days like this remind me how lucky we are to be part of such a supportive community.

𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀.

Because they don’t just remind us of music…

They remind us of whole chapters of our lives.

You hear one song and suddenly you’re:
✨ back in your teenage bedroom
✨ watching a film with someone you loved
✨ singing in the car with your friends
✨ remembering a version of yourself you haven’t thought about in years

And honestly, I think that’s why singing these songs together feels so emotional sometimes.

It’s not really about “performing”.

It’s about reconnecting.

Which is exactly why I’m so excited for our next Sing for your Supper – Movie Magic night on 2nd June 🎬✨

We’ll be singing iconic songs from films, eating together, laughing a lot and probably getting slightly overdramatic about soundtracks from the 80s, 90s and 00s 😅

And Charlotte will be joining us as our guest singer, which I’m VERY excited about.
