In the Piano Safari method, arm weight is introduced through the Lion Paw technique, which teaches students to use gravity rather than muscle force to produce a rich, "singing" tone. This foundational gesture involves dropping a relaxed, "heavy" arm onto the keys, allowing the wrist to follow through by dipping slightly below the key level before a graceful release.

I recorded this on Sept 27th 2023 and my mum passed away on October 2nd 2023. She suffered for 5 years trying to fight the big 'C'. Unfortunately it was her time to go but I wished I could have fixed her. Seeing her suffer was traumatic for me especially the last few weeks.

My mum loved music, she loved seeing me play, serve at church in musical callings. I feel closest to my mum through playing the piano and teaching. I wish she could have seen how much my studio has grown. I know she would be so proud of me for sharing the love of music and teaching piano to others. What a special gift I've been given. I never knew that playing the piano and teaching would help me in my journey of grief. I'm so lucky I have that and always will. Always in my heart Mum. ♥️
