When new areas are found we make new adventures and memories with our friends! This was a fun train ride to the beach then finished with climbing banks and seeing who can find the biggest stick!

When an impromptu shape matching game turns into the floor is lava! Who had time out for standing on the cards?? 🌋

One of the best things about being a smaller setting is that we can turn simple activities into big adventures. This week our paddling pool became a world of splishes, sploshes and swooshes as the children explored all the different ways to move water and make the happiest splashes.

We’ve also been loving our ice play — tiny hands poking, sliding and giggling at how chilly it felt… with a few brave explorers even giving it a cheeky lick to see just how cold it really was! ❄️

Our octopus sprinkler was a superstar too! The children leaned their heads into the sprinkling water to feel the tickly droplets on their hair — and before long it turned into a full‑on sprinkler chase, with little ones aiming the wiggly arms at their friends in fits of laughter. 🐙💦

And the adults? Well… we didn’t escape! The children delighted in giving us a “refreshing wash”, sprinkling water on our legs with sponges and watering cans — and some got very excited and started launching cups of water our way.

And of course… Frank the dog couldn’t resist joining in! He watched the splashing from across the water trays, as if he wanted to dive in too. 🐾💦

Safe to say, everyone will be going home a little soggy but hopefully happy!

As much as we enjoy spending our time out and about on walks we also appreciate that time to play and explore within the setting is essential for making relationships, develop concentration skills and extending communication and listening skills.

We had great fun pond dipping this morning but instead of catching bugs we caught our toy ducks before they swam down the stream and into the waterfall! We only had one duck nearly go for an extra swim!
