September has arrived and the weather has certainly started to feel very autumnal 🍂

This week in Triceratops the children have been making some wonderful new connections with their new friends that have joined us. It has been a joy watching them settle so well into the routines of the nursery day and nursery rhymes is a favourite at the moment. A popular story, chosen by the children, has been 'Car, car, jeep, jeep' sung to the tune of 'baa baa black sheep'.

In T.Rex room we have said goodbye to many of our friends who are moving on to reception. We wish them all the best and know they will continue shining like the stars they are, as they move into their next exciting chapter 🌟 We have spent some time in the summer house this week (in the Seachange garden) where we have a variety of different resources and use the outdoor space. This was also a great opportunity to focus on road safety.

We are very lucky to have so much space to explore here at Jurassic.

What a busy last week of the Summer term! Our children have been building on their physical skills as they challenge themselves to climb up and over the climbing frame in Triceratops room. In the T.Rex room they have enjoyed exploring the traditional tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears through story, songs and our listening station.

Our teamwork skills have also been put to the test as we worked together to move the heavy tyres, developing strength, control, coordination and perseverance in the garden. With a little imagination, our tyres soon became boats and ferries (children's words)! This sparked wonderful conversations as the children connected their play to their own experiences of trips and adventures away.

Happy Bank Holiday weekend everyone!!

Another week has been and gone and what a busy week we have had!

In the Triceratops room they have had 5 little specked frogs in the tray with water and lily pads and have been singing the song at the tray and at carpet time. On the tables they have had some playdough that the need to roll out which helps with strengthing the muscles in their hands. Down the bottom end of the room we have had the climbing frame to help build on our gross motor skills and lots of children can climb up on there own now without needing help.

In the T-Rex room they have been looking at the story 100 birds and talking about the different birds at carpet time, then we made our own shape birds. Over in the water tray we have had 5 little ducks and a mummy duck, we have been singing the song 5 little ducks went swimming one day. We have bought paw patrol back up this week and the children have really been using there imagination whilst playing with them and its nice to see they are taking turns in conversations with each other but they are all carrying on the play.

On friday for lunch we had some of our own home grown tomatoes, we have been watering them every day when we go outside and then picking them when they turn red. We have all been so excited to try them and they tasted delicious! We can't wait to try more of them as we still have plenty of green ones growing in the garden!

Have a lovely weekend!

What a busy week we have had!

In the preschool room we have spent a lot of time outside in the garden having lots of water play. On Thursday we had snack in the garden. We have also been watering our tomato plants that we have growing in our growing garden. Inside we have had the water tray with foam blocks, we realised that when they are wet they stick together and we can build some great towers.

In the baby room the children have really enjoyed the spinning chair that we have, and been learning to take it in turns to have a go. It does spin really fast the more they spin round on it so we have had lots of laughs and giggles. Over in the tray we have had lots of water, babies and balls to play with. We have been watching the balls float and when we blow them they move across the tray.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, look forward to seeing you all next week

This week the preschoolers have been enjoying the trains. We have enjoyed the garden as well and we had a lot of water play and a water fight on Wednesday with the water sponges, cups and we ended up bringing out the hose too and everyone got soaked, even us! The children have also enjoyed a picnic role play this week too as well as a oranges and lemons sensory activity.

In the baby room the children have enjoyed the taste safe painting activity, where they had paint made from icing sugar and food colouring and the activity involved painting a butterfly. The babies have also continued to enjoy the ball pit this week and enjoying bathing the pretend babies towards the end of the week.

This will be the last week with us for some of you and we want to wish everyone the best in their journeys to school! We also want to thank parents for the gifts they have brought in this week, we are very thankful and appreciate you all. It was Morgan's last day with us on Thursday, we are so grateful for all of her hard work over the years! We wish her all the best in her future.

In the preschool room we have been playing with our new role play area. We have a travel agents in the setting and children can look at different holidays and choose where they're going to go and how they're going to get there. A big thank you to one of our parents for donating some travel brochures. The children have also enjoyed the slime this week. We've also enjoyed water play in the garden this week and looking at our planting garden to see what we can do to look after it.

In the baby room the children have enjoyed a sensory tuff try with jelly this week. The babies have also enjoyed getting out in the morning and playing in the garden with a variety of different resources, mainly water based activities. The babies also enjoyed the ball pit again this week!
