Welcome to Maths With Melv!

GCSE & A-LEVEL TUITION

Now in my 14th year of tutoring full time, I offer high quality, bespoke maths lessons tailored to each individual student's needs and ability.

With a chilled, calm and patient approach, all lessons are face to face in Bude. We laugh quite a lot, too!

With zero use of online platforms / PowerPoints etc, I teach from my knowledge and vast experience, constantly finding new ways to explain the tricky bits!

In addition to teaching sessions, a large chunk of our time is spent on past paper practice - building that all-important confidence, exam technique and revision as we go. I have plenty of experience with AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards.

From the very first lesson, to the climactic results day, I support my troops unwaveringly, in and out of lessons. We go through a lot together, but we always make it through 💪

GCSE maths 2026 - DONE! 🎇 🎉 🥳

Massive congratulations guys. Take a bow - you've done it 😁

What a year that was! Some amazing characters, hard workers and refuse-to-give-uppers.

We've laughed, learnt, persevered and grown but now this chapter is over!

A massive thank you to class of '26 - I'm so proud of you all ❤️

I'll be in touch as we approach results day but, until then, get out there and have the greatest summer of your life 🌎

Hello everyone 👋

Massive congratulations and well done to year 11 on every exam you've conquered so far 👌

I highly recommend having a well deserved weekend/few days off to relax, recharge and recuperate - you've definitely earned it! 😁

I'm still worrking over half term - can't abandon you at this point!

Mostly sticking to normal days and times, so if you need to change or can't make it, please let me know ASAP, as others are wanting extra 😀

Again, well done to you all. We're nearly there, but we've still got work to do 💪

Hey troops, five days to go!

As well as trying some papers, I highly recommend getting familiar with what is, and what isn't, on the formula sheet!

For everyone, important ones you need to remember:

Area of a square, rectangle, parallelogram and rhombus = base × height

Area of a triangle = (base × height)/2

I'd advise not to worry about the formulas for compound interest and probability - we just don't use them!

For higher only, you are not given circle theorems, so revise them well 💪

Hello everyone 😁

So, we're somehow already at the crucial stage; 3 weeks this Thursday (14th May) is paper 1!

So it's back to normal days and times. A few other bits and bobs:

If anyone would like extra sessions at all, please let me know and we'll find time 😀

Ideally, I need 24 hours notice for cancellations. Illness/emergencies can't be helped but forgotten sessions will be charged so as not to waste time others could use 😎

As I've been saying to the troops all year, if they need any help or have questions outside of sessions, then please do message me and I'll send help ASAP.

I can also send resources, papers and mark schemes. You have but to ask.

It's been a cracking year end I want them all to get the grades they deserve 💪😀😀😀
