🌊 Weather Update & Schedule Change! 🏄‍♂️

As a surf school, we live and breathe the weather! While today is a stunning day to catch some waves, autumn weather can change in a heartbeat.

With strong winds and large, unpredictable surf forecast for tomorrow, we are cancelling all sessions tomorrow (Wednesday) to keep everyone safe.

Looking ahead:
Thursday: We plan to be back open and ready to surf!
Later in the week: The UK is watching the potential for its first named storm of the season as a deep area of low pressure moves in.

Friday: The Met Office has issued a Yellow severe weather warning for south-western parts of the UK.

If you are planning on watching the waves, RNLI lifeguards are on the beaches at Widemouth and Summerleaze but please keep a safe distance from the sea.

If you see someone in difficulty on the coastline, call 999 and ask for the coastguard.

We will keep everyone updated on our schedule as the forecast develops. Stay safe, check in before heading out, and we'll see you in the water soon! 🤙

We just wrapped up our final RLSS Beach Lifeguard course of the year at OA Surf Club, and what a week it was. Conditions definitely kept everyone on their toes—with some strong winds and some seriously large surf! 💨🏄‍♂️

Despite the testing elements, every single person stepped up and put in the hard graft. After a tough assessment on Friday, we are thrilled to announce that 8 out of 9 participants passed! Special shoutout to some phenomenal swim times and top-tier board work across the group.

A massive congratulations to all our new lifeguards.

That’s a wrap on our lifeguard courses for this season, but we’ll be back with more next year. Keep your eyes peeled—dates will be dropping soon!

Another fantastic RLSS NVBLQ Beach Lifeguard course wrapped up at OA Surf Club! ☀️🌊

8 budding lifeguards joined us for an intensive 5 days of training, putting in the hard work before finishing strong with their final assessment day. We couldn't have asked for better conditions—great weather and sunny skies all week! 🏄‍♂️✨
