🎅 Special Visit from Mummy Christmas!

We had a lovely surprise today with a special visit from Mummy Christmas, who helped bring a bit of festive cheer to our setting 🎄. The children were so excited and really enjoyed the visit, taking time to chat, smile, and soak up the Christmas atmosphere 🎁.

It was such a special moment that added to the excitement of the season and created some happy memories for the children.

We love Christmas Jumper Day at Early Birds!

The children have been rocking their festive outfits all week, and we’ve absolutely loved seeing every single fun and twinkly jumper come through the door!

Open Ended Giraffes

This week, we’ve spent time extending our jungle theme through creating some fantastic open ended giraffe paintings

We approached the craft table with yellow and brown paint, giraffes for inspiration, sticker eyes and tails. The toddlers got stuck in using sponges and a variety of textured brushes to make patterns and mix colours, using the giraffes as an aid for their observational art

The children really enjoyed the freedom of creating their giraffe paintings however they saw in their mind and their creations are truly amazing!

And for today’s special cooking session we made ………. AVOCADO BROWNIES 🥑🍫🧁

The ingredients include:

Avocado
Milk chocolate pieces
Honey
Chocolate cocoa powder
Flour
They were by far our favourite treat we have made and every single piece was eaten as an afternoon treat with milk.

We will DEFINITELY be making these again ! 🎊☺️🤩

🐘🦒Continuing our jungle exploration, the toddlers had great fun making jungle playdough this week! They measured and poured the ingredients, added green paint, and watched the colour spread as they mixed it together.

The children showed wonderful sharing and turn-taking as they divided the playdough and added feathers, tissue paper, leaves and jungle animals to enhance exploration.

This activity encouraged discussions about colour, size and position, as well as building friendships and using their imaginations. They created snakes, dinosaurs, animal “blankets” and so much more—what sensory fun! 🎨😊
