Our students coped really well with the heat at school today. We kept windows open, blinds down, and our teacher kindly brought in a fan to help keep the classroom comfortable. All students drank plenty of water throughout the day and were regularly encouraged to stay hydrated.
Lunch was eaten within the ARB where it was cooler, and we have a freezer drawer stocked with ice pops and Rocket lollies for the children to enjoy.
With temperatures expected to rise further over the next couple of days, we will continue to adapt our provision to keep everyone safe and comfortable. Some lessons may be adjusted in favour of more relaxed, social, and practical activities to help keep students engaged while avoiding unnecessary exertion during the hottest parts of the day.
Thank you for your continued support. We will keep monitoring the situation and take any additional measures needed to ensure the wellbeing of all students.
