We're almost half way through delivering our 12 FIRST LEGO League Explore workshops in North Devon. These workshops and our celebration event in December are funded by The Crown Estate's STEM outreach in the area.

We’re thrilled to be delivering a fully funded advanced robotics programme across Devon and Cornwall for 48 teams, reaching more than 600 young people.

We’re launching a FIRST® Tech Challenge after-school club at The STEM Den for young people aged 12–18 who want to seriously challenge themselves in engineering, robotics and coding.

It’s open to young people from all education backgrounds, including school, college and home education.

Over six months, our team will design, build and program a competition robot to tackle a real engineering challenge.

Half Term fun is here!!

Get ready to build, experiment, engineer, code and create!

We’ll be getting properly hands-on with awesome science experiments, LEGO® builds, robots, engineering challenges, mess making and plenty of "oooohs!" and "wows!" guaranteed.

Expect things to whizz, fizz, fly, move and occasionally go completely wrong (that’s STEM! ).

Our October sessions will offer a day of curious, creative STEM fun for kids who love creating and discovering!

🚀 Two days of Launchpad Live!

We've been connecting with the next generation of innovators, creators and future STEM superstars.

It’s been a brilliant couple of days showcasing what we do at Cognition - from kicking off our FIRST Tech Challenge programme with FIRST UK, to bringing complex AI concepts to life.

And yes… we really do teach machine learning using a LEGO duck! 🦆

We had such a wonderful day at Parkham Primary School on Wednesday delivering the first of our The Crown Estate workshops to a fabulous group of Year 2, 3 and 4.

We're off to Hartland Primary School tomorrow and can't wait!

BIG NEWS!

We're incredibly excited to announce that, thanks to funding from The Crown Estate, we're launching one of the largest FIRST® LEGO® League Explore programmes in the South West!

Next academic year we'll be working with:
- 12 primary schools
- Around 360 children aged 6-9
- Teachers across North Devon

To deliver:
🧱 Hands-on LEGO® robotics and engineering education
🤖 State of the art educational resources available to schools for long term use
🎉 A regional celebration event

This investment will bring world-class STEM opportunities to rural schools, helping children discover the exciting world of engineering, coding and problem-solving from an early age.

We’re excited to be running three robotics teams this year, giving young people the chance to design, build, code and compete at robotics competitions across the South West.

And these teams are about so much more than LEGO and coding. They’re about friendship, creativity, problem-solving, discovery and learning how to work together as a team.

We’re incredibly proud to have had Cognition teams progress to national competitions for the past three years, and we can’t wait to see where this year’s teams take us!
