As always our show days are a huge team effort and cannot happen without our volunteers! We need your help to take care of dancers for just a short amount of time on show day during rehearsals and show time - Please let me know if you'd be willing to help us!

Unlike our huge productions at The Roxburgh Theatre, this event is going to be much more relaxed and take up much less of your time so you can still very much enjoy the day. Also with the event being outside and performed on an open stage, you won't miss a thing!

Carrying on with the theme of ex students visiting Performing Arts and sharing their journey – this week we had Jade from Updance (see links below) who kindly came in to talk to our Performing Arts students about how she developed her Dance School based in Buckingham.

She talked about her degree and her ideas for a dance school - she was able to share how to create a dance school business as well as her philosophy for performing.

It was a pleasure to see how Jade has created this and we hope it has inspired other students to see the possibilities in Dance.

Backstage Helpers Needed!
UP! Dance Winter Show of 2024 | 18th February 2024 | Roxburgh Theatre, Stowe School

Would you like to volunteer to help with the dancers backstage? Our backstage helpers are an integral part to the smooth running of our show!

You will be assigned to an age group along with another adult to register the children on arrival for rehearsals and ensure the children get to stage on time in their costumes and have an all round fantastic day. Lots of info will be provided on the day so you'll have everything you need.

There is such a wonderful buzz backstage and I would be incredibly appreciative if you could come along and help make sure it all runs smoothly.

Thank you and Merry Christmas from UP! Dance Collaborations

With the last week of classes in full swing, I wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to you all for yet another brilliant year at UP! Dance Collaborations. Your unwavering support is so appreciated and the continued commitment, hard work and amazing energy brought by the dancers is as always, unmatched.

We're in full swing for our show preparations which will be held on Sunday 18th February at the Roxburgh Theatre, Stowe School (except 3-5s class). Please let me know if your son/daughter cannot attend. More information regarding rehearsal times, tickets etc will be sent out in the new year.

All classes will break up for Christmas at the end of this week and we will return from Tuesday 2nd January. No classes will be held on 1st January. I will be looking to hold extra rehearsals during the February half term for any dancers able to attend. I will be in touch with more information regarding this nearer the time.

All Christmas orders will be delivered discreetly in class this week. If you have ordered something, please come and see me at the end of class. Your order will be in a sealed grey bag.

We are all looking forward to our last week of classes which are set to be a very busy one!

Our adult contemporary dance class restarts from 6th September for another 6 week block!

Summer Dance Workshops!

Myself and Claire are very excited to announce the following workshops that will be available on the 23rd and 24th August 2023 at the Lace Hill Community Centre.

The Musical Theatre and Lyrical dance workshop will be based on 'Cats the Musical' and available to children ages 6-10 - it will include cat face painting and a short video of their performance.

The Commercial and Lyrical dance workshop is available for dancers ages 10-16 which will also include a music video style recording of their commercial performance.

Without our wonderful backstage helpers, our show simply cannot run smoothly! Would you be able to volunteer to help us on show day? You will be assigned to an age group along with another adult to register the children on arrival for rehearsals and ensure the children get to stage on time in their costumes and have an all round fantastic day. Lots of info will be provided on the day so you'll have everything you need.

If you have a child dancing within the show, I will make sure that you are either assigned to that group or have the opportunity to watch their show performance from the wings whilst with another group. Plus, you will be able to watch most of the show during rehearsals with an empty theatre! As a helper, you of course do not need to purchase a theatre ticket.

There is such a wonderful buzz backstage and I would be incredibly appreciative if you could come along and help make sure it all runs smoothly. (Plus there will be chocolate!)
