- Introducing Leanne Brydon -
“It is a genuine privilege to introduce myself as Headteacher of Akeley Wood Junior School. We have had a fantastic start to the new academic year, and, in my first few weeks, I have already discovered what a unique and very special school community this is.
I bring over 26 years of experience in education, including more than 12 years as a Headteacher and experience as an Executive Headteacher. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about creating schools where children are known and valued as individuals, where they feel a strong sense of belonging and where they are given every opportunity to flourish.
I believe passionately in developing the whole child. Academic achievement is important, but an exceptional education should offer so much more. We want our children to become confident, curious, resilient and compassionate young people who recognise their own strengths and celebrate the qualities that make them unique. Every child has different talents, interests and aspirations, and our role is to recognise that individuality and provide the experiences that enable each child to thrive.
I hope that when you visit our school you will experience what I have already begun to see: a school where relationships matter, childhood is valued and every child is encouraged to be proudly and confidently themselves.”
