Thank you to the MED17 students Salonie, Sheryl, Shiva and Tushar for making our virtual "Phase 2 LEP Experience Talk" on the 3rd of July a huge success! Over 50 students from MED19 tuned in to see the honest first-hand opinions of each hospital base. The students that attended gave an overwhelmingly positive feedback with particular mentions to the brilliant speakers, the useful resources and revision techniques for phase 2. We are very glad to hear that the students attending felt more informed and better prepared for the next stages in the medical school!
Hello Everyone,
Please see the message below regarding a national survery from Rohan Pancharatnam who is our UBMS SPICE-19 Representative:
An important study on the effects of COVID19 on the mental health and wellbeing of medical students and interim foundation doctors is currently underway. If you could spare 15 minutes to complete an anonymised questionnaire, that would be greatly appreciated!
https://psychiatryoxford.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6XOiXhLIvsnITQx
The results from the study will create awareness about particular struggles that are faced by medical students particularly during this time and how best the government and Universities can address this. The University of Buckingham will also receive its own anonymised results, in order to address concerns specifically here.
Thank you for your time! :)

GPs 'To Join Specialist Register' The days of GPs and specialists being registered separately by the General Medical Council may be over.
Second day of our Mock OSCE practice complete ✅ some amazing feedback!
✨ All but one feedback rated the event a 10/10 for satisfaction and that they felt better prepared. In "The Best Part of the Session" feedback section, answers mainly revolved around the 1-minute feedback at the end of each station which students found valuable.
On "Improvements", answers were mainly: "perfect as it is" and "more stations"
"Other Comments" include: very well organized, stations were representative of real OSCE, examiners were professional. ✨
Our examiners will get their teaching tickets verified by Professor Greg Simons on their E-portfolio and certificates within the next week. Thank you everyone for another oversubscribed and successful event!
Thank you to our examiners for making the first round of GPsoc Mock OSCE’s a success! Some great acting and stern faces! Round 2 tonight!

Welcome MED19!
GPsoc would like to welcome you to The University of Buckingham. Following an influx of interest and messages we thought it would be a good opportunity for us to introduce the society.
GP society is the only society to be in Affiliation with the RCGP (The Royal College of General Practitioners) thus we have many exciting collaborations with them in London, Buckingham and other cities.
Our aim is to improve understanding of General Practice and educate on the many options and possibilities a career as a GP has to offer.
We understand that it is too early for many people to decide and we also understand that through your Medical career, you will change your mind. For this reason, we hold many Educational Events with the aim of helping you pass exams, gain confidence in clinical skills and communication. We will be holding a revision session at the end of Term 1 before your first ETA1.
Like many of the students as part of the Committee and members, you don't have to want to be a GP to join us. A good understanding of primary care will be crucial regardless of what career you have your mind set to.
If you are interested in joining, there is an opportunity to do so at freshers fair. Alternatively, you can message us here or contact one of the committee members with your name/ student ID and we will follow it up.
We wish you all the best on your new journey as Medical Students and we hope to be able to help you academically in the near future.
Thank you to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year Medical students for making yesterday’s OSCE prep another success!
Thank you to the 4th year medical students for taking their time to help out with OSCE stations.
First week of our OSCE practice sessions. Hope the first group found it useful!
