📝 Parent Notes: Families may submit 5 parent notes per semester — 10 total for the school year.
🎯 Goal: Perfect attendance every day!

• Good attendance helps students learn, grow, and succeed.
• Missing 18 or more days, excused or unexcused, is considered chronic absenteeism.
• Every day at school is an opportunity to learn something new!

Altercation at Carter G Woodson Complex

We want to make our families aware of an incident that occurred this morning at the Carter G. Woodson Complex. Two adults were involved in an altercation in the drop-off line during arrival. No students or staff members were involved or harmed during the incident.

Law enforcement responded to the scene, and an ambulance was called for one of the individuals involved. Our Security Department is working closely with law enforcement and will take the lead on any additional actions or follow-up related to this incident.

The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue to maintain a safe environment for our school community.

Here’s what’s happening at BES this month:
📚 Math: Place Value & Word Problems

🎨 Encore: Library expectations, Dragons, and Blue Ridge Mountain art projects
💚 Attendance: New incentives, including the Woot-Woot Wagon, tie-dye shirts, foam party, and a movie trip!
