Our Story
About Creative Art Classes I am somebody who believes in and values the ability everybody has to be positively creative in some way. For many people a way to enjoy being creative and making, is through Visual Art. I think that contemporary culture, especially the ‘fine art’ of galleries and exhibitions can be quite inaccessible to a lot of people. Traditional education inevitably causes us to choose between areas of study so that for many, art gets left behind. My Creative Art classes aim to make the practise and processes of making artwork accessible to people of different abilities, experience and interest. The class is designed so that clients can develop ideas and skills. Each week I will bring in a range of resources and suggestions from which clients can choose to work. I bring in objects, photographs, reproductions of artists’ work and examples of my own artwork. I may demonstrate some techniques and styles of working and ways to generate ideas. Everyone gets time for individual teaching and discussion which becomes tailored to the individual’s needs and interests. I bring a limited selection of materials for clients to try out before buying their own. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available throughout the class. I aim to provide a relaxed, stimulating and encouraging learning environment where clients feel safe to experiment, learn, ask questions and have fun.
