Why is birth never mentioned in the yoga texts as a potential moment of awakening? Why do the great teachings say so little about the female body, the cycles, the seasons of a woman’s life? Menopause… and the wisdom it brings!

Not because anyone did anything wrong. The texts were simply written by men, and they gave us treasures, meditation, philosophy, an extraordinary map of consciousness. I honour that side deeply, I have given my life to it.

But there is another side, lived rather than written. I have sat in silent retreats and lived in the ashrams, and quite honestly, nothing has asked more of me than being a mother and a woman in today’s world.

Yoga means union, and union needs both sides. Honouring them is the work of my school.

As a registered Somatic Movement Therapist & Educator, Continuum Teacher and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Blanche has developed a unique approach to healing through movement and embodied enquiry within her private practice Somatic Alchemy. She has a background teaching yoga & mindfulness and working in mental health. Her approach is centered around awakening the natural intelligence, creativity and innate healing of the body and allowing this to guide us, to reveal to us our deepest essence and resources. Blanche facilitates therapeutic movement sessions, workshops and retreats with individuals and groups from her home studio and retreat centre in Glastonbury. She also offers one to one trauma therapy.

We are really delighted that Blanche will be leading Embodied Anatomy and Somatic Movement sessions during our 10 day immersion.

This is a hybrid training. You don’t just arrive for ten days and try to take everything in.
You begin beforehand with online modules, so you already have a base when you come in.

Then the immersion in Glastonbury, where the teaching deepens through practice, experience and being in a group.
And afterwards, there’s space to integrate. To make sense of it, to refine it, to find your way of teaching it.
It’s a slower process, but a more grounded one.

Let’s have a look into our 200hr hybrid teacher training.

Part 1 is online.
You start at home, working through modules in your own time. Asana, pranayama, philosophy, women’s anatomy.
It gives you a foundation, and also time to actually take things in.

Part 2 is the immersion in Glastonbury.
Ten days together. Daily practice, teaching, philosophy, voice, ritual.
This is where it becomes real, where you’re in it, living it, not just learning it.

Part 3 is online again.
Integration. Refining how you teach, understanding what you’ve actually experienced and how it translates into your own voice.

Let us introduce Sivani

There’s something very direct about working with sound.
With Sivani, mantra and kirtan aren’t something you just learn about, you experience what they actually do in your body.

Voice can open things quite quickly. It can also bring up resistance. Both are part of the process.

Her work sits in that space. Not performance, not getting it right, but allowing sound to move through you and noticing what happens.

She will be with us in Glastonbury, holding this part of the work in person.
