There seems to be concerns and misinformation regarding a planning application near the marina - so to hopefully clear concerns please see below
The land at Q1N - north of the marina and currently fenced off is identified for housing in the approved 2012 Masterplan.
The application has been made by Lovell and complies with the masterplan and has been in discussion with the Council prior to submission.
The proposes application will develop 39 units of much needed affordable housing in the village.

This site does not impact the grass area by the marina, which still has the ambition for Resturant and other facilities.

Recently, permission was granted for the permanent facilities building for Scottish Canals, which will mean the removal of the temporary building on the side of the marina.

There is no change to the Masterplan with these two developments.

THE BRIDGE TO NO- WHERE β€˜
Is Being Lifted OVER the CANAL this THURSDAY πŸ‘πŸ‘

At last I hear you say …..😬😬🀣🀣

The Tow Path will be closed for couple of hours while a very large crane lifts it over. The crane will come into the site early Thursday morning with an es**rt.

Once in place over the canal we have a few weeks work to create the embankment which will enable everyone to cross the bridge and get on to the west side tow path or over to the marina for coffee and ice cream.
😊😊😊Thanks for all your patience 😊😊

Last week we saw the first ever Junior Cricket Camp running in Winchburgh . 🏏This was with great thanks to Steve and his coaching team from Cricket Scotland supporting our Winchburgh Cricket Club Volunteers who took time off work to help with the camp and provide a great couple of days for over 60 youngsters each day.
Fantastic weather and lots of fun was had by primary and secondary age groups 🏏 There is some exciting plans ahead to create a junior section for next year. This winter the club members will undertake their coaching badges and be ready to support the new developments next spring. In the meantime the schools are also getting support to deliver cricket so exciting times ahead for the Club 🏏
Thank you to all involved last week πŸ˜€

Fabulous to see so many folks out enjoying a relaxing evening together by the marina - well done all involved especially Leigh and Kirsty from Winchburgh Community Development Trust driving the event to success - i’m sure you will enjoy a well deserved and relaxing weekend πŸ˜€.
Thanks to our lovely Winchburgh Wombles and The wee Bothy and Villaggio Gelato and vendors for feeding our great community πŸ’•πŸ˜€

❀️ A huge thank you to everyone who has helped make our Street Food Social possible.

One of the things that makes Winchburgh special is the willingness of people and organisations to come together for the benefit of the community. This event has been a brilliant example of that.

A huge thank you to Winchburgh Developments whose support has been instrumental in making the event possible. From giving us the use of the marina space to helping bring the whole evening together, we simply couldn't have done it without them.

Thank you to the Winchburgh Wombles, who have kindly donated rubbish bags for the event and will be out on Saturday morning doing a litter pick to help leave the marina looking just as beautiful as we found it.

A special thank you to Villaggio Gelato and The wee Bothy who have been incredibly supportive partners throughout.

Finally, thank you to all of our fantastic food vendors who are travelling to Winchburgh to be part of the event, and to everyone who has volunteered their time behind the scenes to help make it happen.

This is what community looks like. So many people and organisations coming together, each playing their part to create something for everyone to enjoy.

We feel incredibly lucky to be part of a community like this.
