At the Communty Council on Monday the significant rise in the illegal and anti-social use of off-road bikes, E-scooters, and E-bikes across the area was discussed and a local attending Police Officer has provided the following advise for residents.
To tackle this issue effectively, Police Scotland rely heavily on regular, up-to-date intelligence from the public. Information needs to be recent, as anything over a month old is often too outdated to act on. Consistent reporting helps police map out problem areas, identify patterns, and secure warrants to seize vehicles.
The more reports police receive, the more targeted action they can take.
How You Can Help Police Tackle Illegal Bikes, E-Bikes & E-scooters?
Due to safety risks, police officers rarely engage in high-speed pursuits with off-road bikes and E-scooters, a fact that riders often exploit. Instead, officers rely on community intelligence to track down these individuals, identify where vehicles are stored, and carry out targeted seizures.
