What Is A Human Being and What’s Wrong with Them All? These are surely two of the most fundamental questions of all time and in this module, taught by EBC’s Academic Dean, John Brand, we will be examining, first, the biblical teaching on the nature of mankind and what it means to be created in the image of God in humanity, and then where did sin come from, was man created as a sinful being or did he become sinful some time after his creation, and if so, how did it happen and how has it happened that sin and its effects have spread throughout humanity?

What do Christians believe about the Bible and how did we get the Bibles that we have today? These are among the questions we will consider in this module which will be taught by EBC’s Academic Dean, John Brand, who has been teaching and preaching the Bible for more than 50 years.

Biblical Hermeneutics, or Bible Interpretation, may not sound the most fun or exciting subject to study but this is really a foundational course; foundational to everything we teach at EBC, and absolutely essential for anyone who plans to do any teaching or preaching, never mind personal study of Scripture.

Prof Steve Taylor, EBC's Chairman of Trustees, has been studying Hebrew with Dr Lawrence and says, “I have been studying Hebrew for the past few years under the excellent guidance and supervision of Dr Paul Lawrence who is a renowned expert in Biblical Hebrew and a world authority on the Old Testament.
