❤️Some people leave a bigger mark than they realise ❤️

Today is a difficult goodbye at Robertson’s as we say farewell to Helen Jack, who has been such a huge part of our journey for the past 8 years.

Helen and I go way back. We worked together in the same school for many years, where Helen was Head of English, but it was through Robertson’s that our friendship really grew.

And what a journey it has been.

Helen has been so much more than a tutor. She has been a constant, a sounding board, a voice of reason and the person sitting beside me while I cried through the worries that come with running a business. She has been an absolute rock💪

I feel incredibly lucky to have had such a strong, intelligent, compassionate woman beside me for the last 8 years and even luckier to be able to say that somewhere along the way, I found a very special friend ❤️

But the thing I’m most proud of is the impact Helen has had on the young people she has taught.

The relationships she has built, the confidence she has given to students and the difference she has made. She has always been someone who genuinely sees the young person in front of her. So many of them have been incredibly lucky to have Helen in their corner❤️

Now, after years of giving so much to others, it’s time for Helen to give a little more to herself.

I hope the next chapter is filled with slow mornings, lots of books, theatre trips and precious family time 📚🎭🥰

Helen, thank you for everything you have given to Robertson’s, to our young people and to me.

You have left a very special mark here and you will be missed more than you know.

All sessions are 1 to 1 and held in our centre on brook st. ☺️

This has to be one of the longest, most emotional Tuesdays of the year. (As a tutor and a mum waiting for the posty!)

If today brought the news you were hoping for, congratulations 🙌 you’ve worked incredibly hard and you should be so proud🎉

If it didn’t, please don’t let one set of results make you question your ability or your future. This moment doesn’t define you. There are always different routes, new opportunities and people who genuinely want to help you get to where you want to be.

To every student we’ve had the privilege of supporting thank you for letting us be part of your journey 💙

Today, thousands of young people across Scotland will open a text, email or an envelope that they hope brings good news 🙏🏽

For some, today will be a celebration🎉. For others, it may not be the result they were hoping for.

But remember this: your results are part of your story, not the whole story.📖

Success isn’t defined by one day, one grade, or one exam. It’s built through resilience, determination, and the courage to keep moving forward, whatever today’s outcome.

Celebrate your achievements, learn from the setbacks and never lose sight of your potential. There are many paths to success, and every journey is different.

To everyone receiving their results today…be proud of how far you’ve come, believe in where you’re going, and know that your future is still full of possibility.

As another busy year comes to an end, we’d just like to say a huge thank you to all of our students and their families for your support throughout the year 🙏🏽

Our last sessions at Robertson’s will be on Tuesday 30th June and what a year it’s been! We’ve seen so many of our students grow in confidence, reach their goals and achieve things they didn’t think were possible. We couldn’t be prouder of everything they’ve accomplished 🥹

We hope you all have a lovely summer break. Whether you’re off on holiday or at home enjoying things at a slower pace. Take some time to relax, recharge and enjoy making memories with family and friends ☀️

We’ll be back in touch around mid August with details of our return and start back dates for the new term.☺️

After the busiest few weeks of my tutoring year, today brought the last of the goodbyes🥺. I’m trying to keep this short but I already know I’m going to miss seeing some familiar faces every week.

What started as lessons and revision somehow became so much more, shared stress 😓, celebrating little wins 💪, laughs and slowly watching you realise how capable you are💙. It’s been such a privilege to be part of your journey. Thank you for allowing me and this team to be part of this chapter in your life 🙏🏽

To all of our students, I’m wishing you nothing but happiness and success in whatever comes next. Keep believing in yourself and go make amazing things happen xx

Looking back on exams can be useful, but only when it helps you improve something you still have control over. Once an exam is finished, there’s nothing you can change about what you have written…so try to be kind to yourself, trust the effort you put in, and let things be ✨

Your energy is better spent focusing on what’s ahead, whether that’s upcoming exams or simply enjoying a well earned break 🫶

It’s also worth remembering that QS marking instructions are only finalised after examiners review and discuss candidate responses, so it’s impossible to know with certainty which wording, solutions or approaches will be accepted.

You may come across other people sharing “answers” online, but please remember these may not always be fully accurate.

so try your very best,
unless your best is exhausting you,
in which case,

try enough

because you are more than grades
and numbers on paper

the flowers will still bloom
if you fail maths

and somewhere in the ocean,
sea otters are holding hands in their sleep
so they don’t drift apart

which feels like a good reason
not to give up on yourself

so get some sleep.
