Sometimes children don’t have the words to say,
“I’m overwhelmed.”
So they say things like…
“I feel sick.”
“I can’t do it.”
“I hate school.”
And when you hear that, it’s hard to know what’s really going on.
I’ve seen it so many times—especially with KS2 children.
They’re trying their best, but underneath, they might be feeling anxious, stuck, or not good enough.
And it shows up in ways that can be hard to spot—or even misunderstood.
This is something I care deeply about.
Because confidence doesn’t just come from praise or achievements.
What I’ve learned is that confidence isn’t about being brave all the time, or getting everything right.
It’s about learning how to sit with those big feelings—
and still try again.
So what actually helps?
Not rewards.
Not pressure.
Not “just get on with it.”
But…
🌱 Helping them name what they’re feeling
🌱 Breaking things down into manageable steps
🌱 Rebuilding self-belief through consistent wins
🌱 Giving them space to grow without fear of getting it wrong
That’s what I help children do—bit by bit, with calm support, tools that work for their age, and space to grow in their own way.
If this sounds like your child, you’re not alone.
And neither are they.
Let’s help them grow confident—together.
