There are an estimated 2.2 Billion children across the world. If we increase the age range to include young people up to the age of 25 years old, this figure would rise exponentially. According to the World Bank.Org in 2017 42% of the world's population were under the age of 25.

The basis of everything is Love so wherever you find yourself spread a little love and compassion. Resist the temptation to respond to negative behaviour. Silence is the best weapon. Enjoy the rest of your day.

It is interesting to see how the brutality of the American slave trade is expected to be downplayed, into more comfortable narratives as not to offend tourists. What is of greater concern is that these more comfortable narratives are reinforced in the ethnocentric history lessons to which we have all been subjected. Why would it ever be justifiable to diminish the painful experiences suffered by a race of people? I recently visited Auschwitz and I am grateful to the organisers for not making the experience less painful for me but for giving me the opportunity to glimpse, for a short moment the horrific brutality that took place in the concentration camps. It is an experience that will haunt me for the rest of my life. Human suffering should never be made more comfortable for the observer, or the descendants of the perpetrators. "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you, [me, us] free." John 8:32
The awkward questions about slavery from US tourists
It's been 400 years since US slavery began. So how does this dark past fit into tourism now?
