Today we visited the Learning Technologies Exhibition at ExCeL London to explore new ideas, tools and platforms that can help us continue developing Young Explorers HQ.

As our clubs grow, we’re always looking for better ways to support children’s learning, improve our activities, and make sure our sessions remain engaging, well-structured and full of curiosity.

From digital learning tools to creative approaches for training and engagement, it was a great opportunity to see how technology can support the kind of exciting, hands-on learning we love bringing into our after-school clubs.

At Young Explorers HQ, we’re proud to keep learning too — so we can keep inspiring young explorers across our local schools.

It’s the first day back Coding Club at Hawes Down Primary and we’re loving the characters ready for coding next week into Space Invaders! 👾

Aliens, rockets, and some seriously creative little monsters — the imagination on show today was brilliant. Can’t wait to see them come to life on screen next session. 🚀

💻🚀 Scratch Coding Club at Churchfields Primary – Summer Term!

Young Explorers HQ is bringing back our Coding Club for Years 3–6, where children learn to code using Scratch, the visual programming platform developed by MIT.

During the sessions children create their own animations, games, interactive stories and simulations, learning key coding concepts such as sequencing, logic, variables and problem-solving — all through fun, hands-on projects. No previous experience is needed.

Young Explorers HQ is excited to run our LEGO® Building Club for Years 1 & 2 this Summer Term at Churchfields Primary School.

Each week children take part in creative building challenges, engineering activities and teamwork projects designed to spark imagination and problem-solving skills while having lots of fun.

💻 Coding Club at Hawes Down – New Starters Welcome!

Young Explorers HQ will be continuing our After-School Coding Club at Hawes Down Primary School this Summer Term, and we are opening a limited number of places for new children who would like to start learning coding with us.

During our sessions we run two structured groups:
• Beginner group – for children who are starting the coding programme
• Continuing group – for pupils who have attended consecutively and are progressing with their projects

Our approach allows children to learn at the right pace while building confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills through fun Scratch coding projects.
