🤩Our Chef's are Amazing🤩

Last week we had a call from one of our sister nurseries, with a little challenge for our Chef's Niki and Sue in supporting them with making a cake for their Summer Party.
Niki and Sue are always willing to help and take on many other tasks around the nursery as well as cooking the amazing food they provide for the children everyday.

So with the challenge set, Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Orpington celebrated their 6th Birthday at the weekend with a Lego theme, so of course Niki and Sue got to work and made this amazing cake from scratch, going above and beyond the expectations.

We are so proud of our Chef's and cannot thank them enough for what they do on a daily basis.

A huge congratulations to our chefs Niki and Sue for our employees of the month for June and July. We waited a month to award them both together. They have put so much effort and hard work into not just the everyday of their jobs, but also into creating our amazing garden, entering into local competitions with their flower displays and garden competitions and catering for our events here at the nursery. All of us at Monkey Puzzle Bromley want to thank you for looking after all of us with the delicious food and for also being two massive supports to everything we do here. Well Done to Selbi on achieving her 4 years service here with us at Monkey Puzzle Bromley.

We can not believe how quick those 4 years have gone, seeing you grow so much as a person and practitioner has been so refreshing. Completing your Level 3 qualification, finding yourself as a person and sharing your love across your key children is so lovely to see.

Keep being you Selbi, we love hearing your funny stories, your singing and of course seeing what fun things you get up to with the children.

Well done to Caitlyn on achieving her two years service here with us at Monkey Puzzle Bromley.

Caitlyn is one of our lunch time members of staff here at the nursery, supporting the children in our Inventors classroom. She is always happy, supportive and ready to help the children and staff team in the room with a big smile on her face.

Caitlyn sets up some lovely activities inside and out inviting the children to play alongside her and their peers.

Thank you for all you do Caitlyn, we cannot wait to see what else you can bring to the nursery.

Our lovely Nursery Chef team, Nikki and Sue, have really helped the children develop such a lovely garden. They have started their hydroponic garden, grown cucumbers, peas, tomatoes and runner beans, flowers and we have our lovely blooms outside the front of the nursery. There is a gorgeous herb garden and the children have decorated, planted and watered planters. One of which was entered into the Bromley Floral Fest competition a couple of weekends ago. The garden has developed beautifully and we are so pleased with all the hard work that has gone into it. 🌷 🌹 🌺 🫛 🍅 🥒 ❤️❤️

Our Inventors Room have been really busy with our resident chefs Nikki and Sue getting their fingers green. This Saturday in Bromley Town Centre the Floral Fest 2026 competition will be judged at 11.00am and the winners announced 12.00pm. Please follow the link to vote for our planter, the children, Nikki and Sue have worked so hard and all the plants have been grown by them in our fabulous gardening club garden. Nikki and Sue have made such a lovely working garden with our children.

On Tuesday the Investigators children went on a trip to Sainsbury’s to buy different fruits for a healthy snack activity. During the visit, the children explored a variety of fruits, talking about their colours, shapes, smells and names. They were encouraged to choose fruits they liked and to try new ones.

After that, the children had the opportunity to help prepare and make their own fruit salad, snack using the fruits they bought. This encouraged independence, healthy eating and fine motor skills. The children enjoyed tasting different fruits and were excited to make and share their own healthy snack.

The trip also helped the children learn important social and life skills. They practiced walking safely. together, lining up patiently, taking turns, and using good listening skills while in the shop. The children watched how items were scanned and had the chance to scan themselves with support.

We came across the Bromley North sign, some of the children found letters familiar to them, for example the letter beginning their name.

The weather was pleasant and we all thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
