Here are some of the wonderful engaging activities that our children have explored this week.
Our focus this week, has been settling all our new children into their new environment whilst building a strong rapport with their key person. All about me bookets have been created and this has helped with transition and staff learning about the children, in order to support discussions using speech and language skills, during circle and group time activities.

Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"
I then turned and looked behind me,
and seen I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.
I gently touched each shoulder,
with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with My Angel guide.
Phillip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where King's and Queens,
are Monarch's every day.
I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.
I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my Country,
as the peoples friend.
Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above.

We love the summer term, as at The Garden Preschool, we have beautiful surroundings that our building is situated in. We are able to explore and develop our understanding of the world around us, within our grounds and Forest School.
Take a look at what we our children have participating in, as always the children work hard to create artistic work with a file full of fabulous work to take home at the end of term.

We are pleased to announce that The Garden Preschool has received a glowing report and 5 stars from Environmental health that did an unannounced visit today to our setting.
I am so incredibly proud of my team but must give a special big thanks to my wonderful manager Miss Jamieson. Who spoke to the inspector at great length about our policies and procedures and how we adhere to high standards for food hygiene.
All my team work so hard, to deliver high quality education, whilst making sure all children who attend our setting, are safe and well cared for. Congratulations, Mrs Simpson is proud of you all and the progress you continue to make.

We had great fun at The Garden Preschool, Hayes celebrating the Queens Jubilee with all the children on the last day of term.
The children had a vast array of activities using the theme red, white and blue. They all enjoyed afternoon tea with scones, cream and jam.
The flags and bunting were enjoyed by all, while the children waved, clapped and cheered the queens wonderful 70 years of success on the throne.
Here is a little poem about our wonderful Queen.
Elizabeth Elizabeth, you are our Queen.
You have been in charge for 70 years
You’re like a machine.
You have been through so much including the Second World War,
You have seen lots of change,
I’m sure there’ll will be more.
Your caring and kind you’re a great grandma too.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte to name just a few.
You wear a sparkly crown, on top of your head.
You have servants and chefs and sleep in a four poster bed.
I want to thank you for making our country proud.
Elizabeth, Elizabeth, lets shout it out loud!

We had a fabulous vintage afternoon tea for all our wonderful Mums. The children took part in performance, where they sang a song, and told their mums why they love them.
The children got creative with a beauty salon, painting nails and styling hair to pamper all the mummy’s. They all had great fun getting muddy whilst planting pots for the spring.
All in all it was a very sucessful afternoon. The children presented their mums with a lovely card and creative heart they had all made before leaving.
I will leave you will the words of our children’s song….that was performed!
Mothers Day, Mothers Day
Happy Mothers Day!
Here’s a gift, I’ll give to you…..
On this Mothers Day,
I’ll clean my room,
I’ll make my bed,
I’ll put the toys away.
I’ll be good just for you,
On this Mothers Day.
We hope you all have a fantastic Mothers Day.
Lots of Love
The Garden Preschool, Hayes Team

The Theme was the colour Red within our activities at preschool, for the staff to bring awareness to Red Nose Day and why we celebrate this, discussing the importance with all the children.
The children enjoyed exploring a variety of textures as well as creating their own red noses or crowns.

What a beautiful day for play in the sandpit!
Sand play teaches children to gradually build the skills they need to solve challenges rather than avoiding them. Children within Early Years naturally build fine motor skills as they play with sand. This means they begin to develop small muscles, particularly in their fingers which help them to grip and control pens and pencils.
