Is a assessment necessary? A diagnosis can be empowering as it identifies strengths and helps to understand why things are challenging. Employers and university often need a diagnosis to implement support, but is not required for support at school.

Did you know that a diagnosis does not automatically entitle students to exam support? Exam bodies have their own rules and, regardless of any diagnosis, schools must work with students to obtain evidence to apply for exam adjustments, including extra time.
