InDepth Dive Club SAA & PADI

InDepth Dive Club SAA & PADI InDepth Dive Club is an independent SAA and PADI club. The Dive Centre is not run for commercial gain, it is run professionally for recreational purposes.

InDepth Dive Club is part of the InDepth Dive Centre and was established by a group of friends who wanted to dive more and teach to the highest possible standard. We are, first and foremost a PADI Dive Centre & PADI club, but we are also a member of the Sub-Aqua Association (SAA) which is affiliated to CMAS (the worldwide federation for scuba diving). Subsequently, all the training and qualificat

ions that we can provide are recognised internationally. We have an active club night that meets on Thursday evenings from 8:15pm until 11:30pm. These club nights alternate fortnightly between meeting at Tewkesbury School Swimming Pool and, in the summer months, at Cromhall Quarry for a mid-week dive. Training takes place all-year-round and we also have many social nights, which include BBQs, bowling, cinema, go-carting, Go Ape, and all sorts of other activities. Many of the club's SCUBA diving trips make use of our own boat, called 'Deep Blue' - a Humber Destroyer 5.8 RHIB with 115hp engine. We take all levels of qualifications and experience from instructor grades to complete novices. Divers are encouraged to broaden their diving knowledge and incentives are available for club members to progress into instructor qualifications. If you're already qualified, no matter with which training agency, and want to dive on a regular basis with a friendly bunch then come and see us. Have a look at our club calendar to see what we get up to. If you want to learn how to dive or even take your existing qualifications further we can provide the necessary training up to dive supervisor within the club and further than that including instructor grades with the both the SAA & PADI. We welcome all abilities and disabilities. So please do not be put off if you have any special requirements. You will be made most welcome by our club. We have a number of members with both visible and hidden disabilities. Club diving with a recognised agency such as the SAA & PADI provides you with the same high standard of training and care as you'd expect commercially, the only real difference is the social aspects and friendships that typically come with diving in a club environment, especially one that has a policy of 'inclusivity' at its core and within its very constitution! A few snaps from the Emsstrom and Galicia wreck dives over the weekend. And what a weekend it was… 🌞 📸 !!

Didn’t take the camera on the Oreston, as opted to just enjoy the dive and had loads of life on the reef and in the tunnel. 🐟 🐠 🦞

UK diving at its best…!

The cool 😎 kids from the Draper clan, James & Oli have been enjoying some banging dives with their dad Simon whilst on holiday in Malta.

Some iconic wrecks ticket off the list including the epic MV Karwela. 🤿

Have fun lads, we can’t wait to hear all about it when you’re back and next at the club. 😊

Quite possibly our busiest ever pool session this week with both an open water group starting their PADI Open Water course as well as a group of Scuba Scouts taking their first underwater breaths! 🤿

We also had a couple of SAA - The Sub-Aqua Association try dives taking place as well as other students practicing skills before going open water next week.

A big thank you to Helen Bone from the Scouts for bringing her troop over for the last two club pool nights and also to the instructor team for all of their hard work. Heidi, Stu, Vishaka and Neal took excellent care of them all. 😇

Thanks also to both James and Andrew for taking care of the open water students and also to Alex and Kev for surface cover and helping with logistics. Thanks also to Philip for in-water support and organising all the gas. 👏

If you’re interested in learning to scuba dive, or simply curious about having a go, then drop us a line. A Try Dive or DSD - Discover Scuba Diving costs just £35 and our open water courses are £450 split over 3 payments as you progress. Details can be found on our website, link in the comments.

Many thanks to Graham Weston for support diving, Neal Breeden and Piers for surface cover and James for instructing. 🙏

Zach did extremely well on his first two dives and will be back to complete his course in a couple of weeks time.

More club members taking to the skies ✈️ and venturing oversea for some scuba diving 🤿 adventure…

Alex & Anthony have joined Max in Malta and are diving some of the iconic sites. Already ticketed off are the Inland Sea & Azure Window (collapsed) and the Karwela.

Many more yet to dive and the week ahead to dive them all… let the adventure begin…

Our next club trip to Malta is next July, see the club’s website for details. Link in the comments.

A variety of underwater shots from last Thursday’s club night at Tewkesbury Sports Centre 📸

We hosted another PADI Scuba Scouts for a local scout group as well as progressing confined water training for a couple of our club members.

A big shout out to the team for taking care of things, especially given that we have had core team members away on holiday over the last few weeks, so others have had to step up and go the extra mile. 👏

The Acouts had a cracking evening and we have club members that are now ready to progress to open water..!! 🤿

If you’re looking to try scuba diving or want to get qualified as a scuba diver then why not get in touch and come along and check us out. Link in the comments to our website.

Club members enjoyed the sunshine this weekend down in Dorset and a couple of dives 🤿 under the pier.

Viz was around 3-5 mtrs and the temperature was a tropical 21°C. Fortunately the ice cream 🍦 was much colder and the fish n chips much hotter..!

Swanage is always a club favourite, something to offer all levels of diver and such a lovely part of the country.

Club members working on ‘Deep Blue’, our RHIB. In between beers by the looks of things, all in the interests of testing the new 12V outlets to make sure the cool boxes are working of course…! 🍻

Next job is to finish the trailer refurbishment and a couple of minor niggles and she will be completely refurbished. 👏

Many, many weeks of hard work… 🚤
