Sports Day Success!

What an incredible day we had at Broadstone Middle Sports Day!

From the first race to the final relay, our pupils showed outstanding enthusiasm, determination, and teamwork. It was fantastic to see everyone participating, cheering each other on, and demonstrating true sportsmanship throughout the day.

A highlight of the day was our family picnic, which created a wonderful community atmosphere. Families gathered together to relax, enjoy food, and prepared to cheer on our pupils - it truly made the day extra special.

A huge well done to all students for their effort and positive attitude - you made us all proud!

Congratulations to our winning house/team... ATTENBOROUGH (GREEN)

A big thank you to our dedicated staff and supportive parents who helped make the event such a success.

Here’s to staying active, building confidence, and having fun together!

On Wednesday 20th May, Year 6 had a wonderful opportunity to visit the Poole Lighthouse, where they experienced a live performance by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra featuring a talented mezzo soprano. The children took part enthusiastically, joining in with singing and performing body percussion alongside the musicians. The students represented the school beautifully. Most importantly, they had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed this enriching musical experience.

On Friday 15th May, Year 8 students took part in an exciting STEM Roadshow led by BAE Systems, alongside the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy. The 45-minute interactive show, Material World, introduced pupils to the fascinating world of science and engineering through hands-on demonstrations and activities. The session was both informative and inspiring, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among students.

HAPPY HALF TERM! Thank you to our families and community for joining us over the last two days for our KS3 and KS2 sports days. Both days were fantastically well organised by the PE team and every child particpated in an event or supporting the logistics of the day. Well done to everyone for a successful BMS Sports Day(s) and we look forward to announcing the house team winner and celebrating with the children after the half term.

[Quick reminder to all families who took photos or videos today to not post these on social media - we have lots of children without permission for their images to be shared online. We thank you for your support with this and will share school images after the half term]

A big well done to our KS2 Girls football team! After battling lots of different school football teams they managed to reach the semi-finals against St Michael's Middle School, which is a huge achievement. They should be so proud!

Unfortunately, we did not get through to the finals, but they showed huge amounts of resilience and teamwork throughout the match. Fantastic!

As the weather becomes warmer, we would like to remind you of our expectations for PE kit. Pupils must not wear Nike Pro–style shorts for PE lessons, as these are not part of our uniform policy.

Acceptable options are:

✅Mid‑thigh length cycle shorts

✅A skort

✅Sports shorts similar to those pictured here

Pupils will be reminded of these expectations in school, and parents will be notified by their child’s tutor if the incorrect kit is worn. If a pupil continues to arrive in non‑uniform PE shorts, the PE team will provide an appropriate pair for the day.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a consistent and appropriate PE uniform for all pupils.

Sports Stream pupils have had a great opportunity to engage with some water sports activities and they have had fantastic sessions run by Rockley at Poole Park.

The pupils will undertake a four week program whereby they will learn and perfect a range of skills in different water sports. All the pupils did a great job, even though the wind was not on their side for their first session but the sun was shining!
