What an incredible year it's been!
As another fantastic school year comes to a close, we're reflecting on just how much we've achieved together.
From exciting learning opportunities and memorable experiences to the everyday acts of kindness that make our school so special, this year has truly been one to celebrate.
A huge thank you to our amazing parents, carers and staff for your unwavering care, support and encouragement. Your partnership has helped create a school where Belonging, Enjoyment, Respect, Caring and Teamwork aren't just words – they're values we live every day.
To our wonderful Year 6 leavers, we couldn't be prouder of you. Watching you grow into confident, caring and resilient young people has been a privilege. As you begin your next adventure at secondary school, we wish you every success and happiness. Remember, you'll always be part of our school family.
Together, we have aimed high, supported one another and achieved so much.
Now it's time for a well-deserved break!

If your child is due to start school in September and you have not yet secured a place, we have a few places available in our Reception Class. You don't need to be in the catchment area or be a Catholic to come to St Joseph's we welcome everyone. Those of faith, different faith and no faith.
Our popular wraparound care facilities offer flexibility to working parents with sessions available from 7.30 am right through to 5.30 pm.
With a seamless journey from Reception through to Year 6, we will help your child become an independent, engaged and creative learner.

As part of their local history study, our Year 6 pupils enjoyed an exciting visit to the St Peter's Village Tour, where history came alive before their eyes.
Throughout the day, the children had the opportunity to meet many of the fascinating historical characters they had been learning about in class, including the infamous smuggler Joss Snelling. Hearing stories directly from the characters and seeing them brought to life through engaging performances helped the children gain a deeper understanding of what life was like in the past.
The tour provided a wonderful opportunity to explore local history in a hands-on way, allowing pupils to make meaningful connections between their classroom learning and the real world. From discovering intriguing tales of smuggling and village life to exploring the rich heritage of the local area, the children were captivated from start to finish.
It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm, curiosity and thoughtful questions throughout the visit. Experiences like these help to inspire a love of history and encourage children to appreciate the stories, people and events that have shaped the communities we live in today.

Year 5 had a fantastic time on their STEAM trip to Chatham and Clarendon Grammar School last week, taking part in a variety of exciting activities designed to develop their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.
Throughout the day, the children enjoyed a range of hands-on experiences, including a cooking session, designing and screen-printing their own bags, creating personalised key rings, and becoming Maths Champions through a series of fun problem-solving challenges. One of the highlights of the trip was panning for gold, which gave the children an exciting insight into a real-world activity linked to science and exploration.
The children represented the school brilliantly, demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience, teamwork and excellent behaviour throughout the day. They embraced every challenge with confidence and thoroughly enjoyed learning through practical, creative experiences.
It was a memorable day full of discovery, achievement and fun, and everyone returned to school with smiles on their faces and plenty of stories to share. Well done, Year 5!

Year 6 Conquer Grosvenor Hall!

What an incredible adventure for our Year 6 pupils at Grosvenor Hall!

From scaling Jacob’s Ladder and tackling the trapeze to abseiling, buggy building, disc golf, and orienteering, our children threw themselves into every challenge with enthusiasm and determination.

Throughout the trip, they showed fantastic teamwork, resilience, and perseverance, encouraging one another every step of the way. We couldn't be prouder of how they represented our school – their behaviour was outstanding, their manners were impeccable, and their smiles never faded!

A huge well done to all of Year 6 for embracing every opportunity, stepping out of their comfort zones, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Six of our pupils recently attended the Vehicle Celebration Event at Canterbury Christ Church University with Mrs Tutte and Mrs Reid.
The children had a fantastic day taking part in a range of engineering challenges, testing how far their vehicles could travel forwards and backwards, and seeing how they performed on an incline. They also enjoyed speaking with engineers and learning about vehicle design, planning, and problem-solving.
It was a wonderful opportunity to explore the world of engineering and develop their STEM skills in a fun and engaging way.
We are incredibly proud of how brilliantly our pupils represented the school, showing enthusiasm, excellent behaviour, and a real willingness to learn throughout the day. Well done to everyone involved!

St. Joseph's has once again entered the Thanet Schools Young Artist Festival which is presented by The Margate Rotary Club. We are pleased to announce the class winners as follows:
Rosie and Yanina from Reception, Lola and Toby Year 1/2, Dolly and Cillian Year 3, Makar and Evelyn from Year 4, James from Year 5 and Vinnie and Carter from Year 6. A massive well done to all the winners and to everyone who took part in this year's competition. The winners pictures will be displayed at Margate Digital Campus, High Street, Margate from 19th to 31st May. Overall winners will be chosen and prizegiving will take place on Saturday 30th May at 12 noon.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the month of May by coming together today for our Crowning of Mary service.
Children were invited to bring a flower to school so that we could decorate our prayer corners. Flowers were brought in abundance and proudly presented to Our Lady during the service. The children were also able to bring along their own Rosaries for the celebration.
Our service began with the hymn Oh Mary We Crown Thee; Mrs. Reid then led the children in prayer before Tendashe and Vinnie were invited to crown Our Lady with the beautiful crown of fresh flowers. Representatives from each class presented their flowers to Our Lady Mary and then Mrs. O'Neill invited Year 5 to lead 'The Decade of the Rosary'. Mrs. Reid closed the service and we sang our final hymn Beautiful World. Mary, the mother of Jesus, and our spiritual mother, is present in our lives to love us, to watch over us, and to bring our prayers to Jesus.

Last week our Year 5 pupils enjoyed a fantastic trip to Viking Bay as part of their environmental studies.
Throughout the day, the children mapped the local area, took part in a litter pick, and collected data to support their learning about the environment. We were incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, teamwork, and positive attitudes throughout the visit.
A wonderful day of learning outdoors for everyone involved!
