Janeys Dayz

Janeys Dayz A safe environment where the children feel safe and comfortable in my care. Hello My name is Jane and I am a mother of 3.

I have been an OFSTED registered childminder since January 2017. I thrive myself on being a very open approachable person and love to get involved with a childs imagination, from roaring down the high street pretending to be a T-Rex to hiding in a home made den where we can read books together. I also work very closely with other minders and we love to get the children together so they learn great

social skills

I follow the Early Years Foundation using observations on the children to make sure they are developing at the right rate and to make them school ready which will put them in good stead for their first big step.

As the summer holidays are coming closer to ending I thought I was getting away with not making a complete mess of myself but low and behold here I am. Covered in orange dye whilst making scented candles as donated by Rebecca Walker. I was completely oblivious of my extra coverage whilst opening the door to a delivery person. I think he struggled to hold his composure. The dangers of crafting are real people. 😂

Another mornings learning with Rebecca Walker - Ofsted Registered Childcare. Colour matching at coleton. We were discussing how the plants have changed since we went a couple of weeks ago.

If you listen carefully you can hear the call of woodpecker chicks as we just saw mummy leave the nest.

Today’s adventure was to see the fluffy ducklings at Cockington. We were even lucky enough to see a woodpecker fly from its nest. We discussed the difference between a male and female duck and the different size fish in the pond. Sadly the grass was too wet to do hill rolling

World bee week and we have had a wonderful adventure. Being back in nature with Rebecca Walker - Ofsted Registered Childcare. Where we heard Becca read a beautiful story and then made pine cone bees. All the children absolutely loved today’s adventure. Needless to say I sent home a couple of tired kiddos.

National childminder week. I know some amazing childminders here in Brixham and we are such an amazing team. We work hard and very long hours (there is alot behind the scenes) to give all our children the best start in life.
Every child that steps through our door is no longer a child from a family we look after, they become an extended part of our family. Each night we worry about them just like our own, each night we wonder if they have enjoyed their day and what we can do to continue their learning. Every weekend we find a little part missing. We become secondary parents/caregivers to some amazing little people. I thank all the parents past and present for allowing for me to be apart of your beautiful children’s lives. I love how I still get cuddles on the school playground from past children (I have to hide my tears of joy when they run to me for their cuddle). There is a place for nursery’s but as a childminder it’s just different, don’t ask me how! It just is.

What a beautiful day it was yesterday. We spent the day at the beach where the children dug holes, made sand castles, collected stones, made motes and had a wicked time.

There are limited spaces becoming available in September. Please give me a call and come for a visit. Where your child could be the newest member of our crazy family and enjoy plenty of adventures.
