A huge thank you to everyone who has trained with us, shared their feedback and put their trust in our team.

Our open courses include Toolkit Facilitator Training for structured recovery programmes supporting people affected by ACEs and adversity, domestic abuse, and parents / children exploring and managing emotions.

For practitioners, managers and service leaders supporting people through trauma, crisis and complex circumstances, reflective practice offers valuable space to pause, learn from experience and consider how the work affects us.

Join Jo Majauskis for a free one-hour webinar exploring how reflective practice can strengthen decision-making, professional learning, resilience, wellbeing and compassionate, person-centred practice.

Drawing on her experience of developing reflective practice with frontline police officers and university students, Jo will introduce practical reflection models and simple techniques that can be used in everyday work.

πŸ™ A huge thank you to everyone who joined Elise Hayden for Wednesday's webinar "Addressing Misogyny and Sexism with Children and Young People", and for sharing such positive, thoughtful feedback.

We love to see participants leaving with practical ideas they can immediately apply in their work – it's what our Enhanced Webinar series is designed to achieve.

🐚 The final Enhanced Webinar of the summer is on Weds 12 August with "Coercion and Control – Understanding, Assessing and Responding". During this two-hour online session, Sue Penna will go deeper into the dynamics of coercive control, how to recognise it, assess risk and respond using a trauma-informed approach.

It's ideal for professionals working across safeguarding, health, social care, education, criminal justice and the voluntary sector.

If we're serious about tackling violence against women and girls, we also need to address the misogynistic attitudes, beliefs and behaviours that can take root much earlier in life.

Join our upcoming enhanced webinar, "Addressing Misogyny and Sexism with Children and Young People", to explore the growing influence of misogyny, harmful online content and gender stereotypes - and discover trauma-informed approaches to recognising and addressing these issues in practice.

Led by Elise Hayden, a trauma-informed practitioner and Head of PSAT in an alternative provision setting, this session will equip professionals with the knowledge and tools to recognise concerns, start conversations and challenge harmful attitudes.

Ideal for professionals working with children and young people across education, safeguarding, youth work, social care, early help and health.

🎨 🐚 After a productive and intensive day of strategy meetings in the office, the Rock Pool team swapped flip-charts for paintbrushes!

A short stroll across harbour took us to the brilliant Kick Up The Arts for a couple of hours of creativity, connection and a chance to unwind together.

It turns out, when faced with a few daunting blank canvases, there’s plenty of creative spark in the Rock Pool team too.

A huge thank you to Sarah and artist Mark for such a warm welcome and for creating such a relaxed, inspiring space.

A lovely reminder that making time to pause, connect and create matters too.

πŸ“’ Have your say on the future of mental health services in England!

The Department of Health and Social Care is currently gathering evidence to inform a new Mental Health Strategy for England.

At Rock Pool, we know that understanding mental health through a trauma-informed lens means looking beyond symptoms and diagnoses to consider the experiences, relationships and circumstances that shape people's lives.

If you work with people experiencing mental health challenges, this is an opportunity to share your views, evidence and examples of practice to help inform future policy and service development.

The consultation closes on 10 July 2026.

"It wasn't my fault" is a realisation many participants have when taking part in the Recovery Toolkits.

In this short film, participants from a PAACE programme (delivered in partnership with Sefton Council) share their experiences of understanding and recovering from the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

For many people, understanding the impact of trauma can be transformative. It can help make sense of feelings, behaviours and coping strategies that may have been shaped by experiences beyond their control.

Our PAACE (Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences) Recovery Toolkit Facilitator Training equips practitioners to deliver a structured trauma-informed recovery programme within their own services and communities.
