What’s taking up more headspace in your business than it should?

Not necessarily the biggest problem, sometimes it’s a decision you keep circling, an opportunity you can’t quite place, or a conversation you’re avoiding.

Business owners are rarely short of information or advice. They’re often short of room... Room to step back. Question what they’ve started treating as certain. To hear themselves think.

Over the summer, I’m opening a handful of 20-Minute Business Rethinks for founders and business owners.

Bring one thing that’s on your mind. No preparation. No pitch. No pretence that I’m going to solve it for you.

Just 20 focused minutes to see clearly, see differently and choose what matters next.

If that would be useful, message me RETHINK and I’ll send you the link.

Have you experienced the power of coaching yourself?

Not as a concept. In your own life.
That moment when someone really listens.
When the noise settles.
When you hear yourself more clearly.
When a question opens something you hadn’t quite been able to reach on your own.

Sometimes, that experience stays with people.

And sometimes it creates another question:

Could I learn to offer this kind of space for others?

Yesterday, I had an enquiry come in completely out of the blue from someone who had experienced coaching and now feels drawn to explore the craft more seriously. I love that.

Because coach training often begins there. Not with certainty. Not with a fully formed career plan. Not with “I’m ready.” More often, it begins with a felt sense: This has mattered to me — and I wonder if I could bring something like this to others.

This year’s edition of The Birth of a Coach, the ICF-accredited Level 1 programme from Evolution Coaching Academy, begins next Thursday.

It runs part-time over 5 months, with training days once a month on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10:00–15:00 UK time.

We have a small cohort forming, and there are still a few places available. So this weekend may be a good time to pause, explore and act.

If coach training has been sitting somewhere in the background for you, I still have exploration calls available before we begin next week.

You don’t need to have it all worked out. Just enough curiosity to have the conversation.

Thinking seriously about joining an ICF Level 1 coach training programme this year?

Next week, the next cohort of Evolution Coaching Academy’s ICF-accredited Level 1 programme begins.

Before we start, we’re holding one final live Q&A session this week on Thursday at 5pm (GMT+1) — a chance to ask the honest questions that matter before deciding whether coach training feels like the right next step for you.

This won’t be a presentation or sales webinar.

It’ll be a smaller, more conversational space where you can:
• meet the faculty
• experience the tone and approach of the training
• ask about the reality of the journey
• explore whether coaching is something you want to develop professionally

Questions people often bring include:
Am I actually ready for coach training?
Do I need to want a full-time coaching career?
What really changes during an ICF Level 1 programme?
How much practice and personal development is involved?

Between us, the faculty bring thousands of hours of coaching experience, and we’ll answer as openly and honestly as we can.

If you’ve been circling the idea of coach training and want clarity before the programme begins next week, you’d be very welcome to join us.

Thinking about becoming a coach? 2026 may be a very good time to begin.

The ICF has announced a significant change coming in 2027: the new Mentor Coach Specialisation (MCS) requirement.

In simple terms, the profession is moving toward clearer standards, stronger mentor coaching, and more structured developmental support for coaches in training.

That is good news for quality.

It also has a practical implication. From 2027, accredited coach training providers will need to adapt their programmes, and this is likely to create additional cost across the sector.

So if coach training has been on your mind, this may be a good moment to begin your accredited training and development pathway now, before those additional costs kick in next year.

My next edition of The Birth of a Coach — ICF Level 1 / ACC programme with starts in May 2026.

It is a high-quality, ICF-accredited pathway for people who want to develop credible, grounded and compassionate coaching practice.

If you’d like to explore whether this is the right step for you, just reach out and book a 25-minute exploration call - all warm hearts welcome.

What tends to bring people back to coaching?

It’s rarely a lack of capability. More often, it’s this:

– A lot going on, little space to think
– Patterns repeating, without a clear way through
– A sense that something needs to shift that's hard to name

What people come back for isn’t advice. It’s clarity.

This recent testimonial from Vuyo, an ex Stanford CEO has it well:

"I first met Matt in 2021 through the Stanford Executive Programme — and the connection was immediate. What struck me most was how quickly he helped me make sense of things I couldn't articulate on my own. Patterns in my leadership, dynamics around me, blind spots I'd been carrying for years — suddenly clear. When I recently went through a significant career transition, I came back to Matt. Having him as a thinking partner and accountability anchor made all the difference. Again."

That’s the work.

Creating the conditions to see clearly.
To think without noise.
To move forward with intent.

If you’re navigating something that feels complex or hard to name, there’s space to explore it:

Curious about coach training — but not sure what coaching actually feels like?

This Thursday at 5pm (BST), we’re doing something a bit different.

Instead of another webinar, we’re running a small group coaching session.

You’ll be in a breakout with one of our faculty (myself, Krish, Flavia or Patrick), see a real coaching conversation up close, and reflect on it together.

Between us, we bring 10,000+ hours of coaching experience, and we all teach within an ICF-accredited Level 1 programme — so what you’ll see is grounded, professional coaching practice, not a staged demo.

No slides.
No long explanations.
Just the experience of coaching, as it actually happens.

We’ll also make space to talk honestly about what it takes to develop as a coach, and whether professional training is the right next step for you.

If you’ve been circling the idea of coaching and want a clearer sense of it before deciding anything — you’d be very welcome.

Thinking About Coach Training? A Small Group Experience

The next session we’re running on the coach training theme won’t be a webinar, it’s a small group coaching experience.

We’ll keep it to a handful of people and split into small breakout rooms, each led by one of our faculty.

You’ll see a real coaching conversation up close, reflect on it together, and get a feel for what coaching actually is — beyond theory or explanation.

We’ll also create space to talk honestly about:
• how coaching develops in real life
• what training actually involves
• whether it’s something you want to take further

If you’re seriously exploring becoming a coach — or developing your coaching more professionally — this will give you a much clearer sense of it.

No presentation. No pressure. Just a chance to experience it properly. Thursday 30th 5pm.
