Brixham C of E Pupils Help Shape the Future at ACE COP26
Pupils from Brixham C of E Primary School recently joined children from across The Academies for Character and Excellence (ACE) at the Trust's annual climate summit, ACE COP26, held at the University of Exeter.
The event brought together Year 5 pupils from across the Trust to learn from inspirational speakers, explore environmental challenges and work collaboratively to develop solutions that can make a positive difference within their schools and communities.
Throughout the day, pupils listened to keynote speakers who shared their experiences of creating change and demonstrated that age is no barrier to making a difference. They then worked alongside children from other ACE schools to discuss ideas, debate priorities and vote on a series of collective climate pledges that will now be championed across the Trust.
The pupils from Brixham C of E Primary School represented their school brilliantly, contributing thoughtful ideas, demonstrating excellent teamwork and showing a genuine passion for protecting our planet.
Headteacher, Jenny Stewart, said:
"We were incredibly proud of our pupils. They engaged enthusiastically throughout the day and embraced the opportunity to work with children from across the Trust. They returned inspired, motivated and eager to put their ideas into action."
