Calling all night owls who are looking to do their RYA Day Skipper theory course.
We've got spaces on our evening course, which covers chart work, navigation, meteorology and the basics of seamanship.
Day skipper is designed for prospective skippers and crew who want to deepen their knowledge of navigation techniques before taking the helm in familiar waters.
This course is open to anyone. It kicks off on the 28th of September and runs as 42 hours of evening classes to fit around your day job.

At our Bristol training centre, students don't just learn the theory. They use specialist radios, adapted specifically for the classroom. It means teams leave knowing exactly how to use their kit, not just how to talk about it.
For anyone going out on the water, that difference matters. It's practical, hands-on training that translates directly to the task at hand.
In this video, attendees on a recent Outdoor First Aid course at our Bristol training centre practise treating simulated injuries on each other, exactly as they would if help wasn't close by. It's hands-on, realistic, and built for people who spend time in remote or outdoor environments, whether for leisure or work.

If you've done RLSS UK water safety training with us before (Module 1 with Annex G or Module 2) but work in tidal estuaries or on the coast, this module is the top-up you need.
The benefit is that it's on-shore or online, meaning you can get it done quickly and at a good price.

Did you know that navigating from the start of Bristol's Floating Harbour to the Bristol Channel typically takes approximately 1.5 hours total (excluding the locking out procedure). This includes roughly 60 minutes to cross the harbour and lock out, followed by a 30 minute run down the tidal section of the River Avon to finish in the Bristol Channel. Just make sure you book and don't miss your lock out time.
