Sydenham Road Under Fives SRUF provides quality Foundation stage education to 3-4 year olds. Our aim is to enhance the development and education of children through play.

Children gain confidence and learn to socialise with other children, in preparation for school and life.

Next week we will be sharing 'Pirates Love Underpants' story. We will be making treasure boxes to collect outside treasures, decorating underpants with different patterns and colours and working together to build pirate ships.

Next weeks letter and sound will be 'P' and the Makaton signs are 'Yellow' and 'Sorry'.

Next week we will be sharing 'Lima's Red Hot Chill' story sack.
We will be creating pizza slices using shapes, chopping and tasting red foods and exploring colours changing on the lightbox.

We have had a wonderful welcoming new children and returning children back to preschool.
It's been lovely to spend time at the cemetery and create lots of caterpillars.

Next week we will be sharing 'The Blue Balloon' story, decorating balloon shapes, using different shades of blue and textures, balloon bopping, exploring in the dark den and listening and looking for birds at the cemetery.

Next weeks letter and sound is 'B' and the Makaton signs will be 'Thank you' and 'Blue', please look out for these on the group WhatsApp.

This term we will be learning about shapes, colours and patterns, looking for different shapes, colours and patterns in the environment and noticing and exploring how we can change colours by mixing them or using different lights and how shapes and patterns can change by moving and adding new pieces.

We will also be watching the changes the new season brings and building new friendships.

Next week we will be sharing 'The Hungry Caterpillar' story.
We will be cutting green circles to create caterpillars, exploring different fruits that the caterpillar ate and using shapes, patterns and mixing colours to create butterflies.

We will continue to follow early years nutrition guidelines ensuring all snacks and drinks we provide are healthy and nutritious, please support us by ensuring children's lunch boxes are healthy and balanced with no sugary snacks, and only bringing water in water bottles, you could encourage children to help make their lunches giving them opportunities to make choices and gain understanding of different foods.

We have had a lovely week picking blackberries at the cemetery, celebrating with Liz and dancing with Hayley from Happy Feet.

Next week the children will be choosing some of their favourite activities from the past year to re-visit, we will be making sandwiches and party hats and Dave will
be visiting with his animals!

Tuesday will be showtime, and graduation for children moving onto school.

Next week we will be learning about the weather.
How it makes us feel, what we wear in different weathers, weathers in other countries and the impact weathers have on our community.

We will be sharing 'Gorilla loves Vanilla' story , splashing in puddles, exploring cloud and hurricane experiments and creating rainbows.

Next week we will be matching people in the community to the jobs they do. We will be creating emergency vehicles and building with blocks and resources.

Next week we will be sharing the story of 'The Bristol Giants'.

We will be building bridges with blocks, planks and resources, drawing maps of our community.
We will also be thinking about the people we meet and help us in our community and starting to practice for sports day.

Next week we will be finding out about countries around the world, exploring different languages, foods, music and ways of life.
We will be creating landmarks from blocks and resources and sending postcards from places we have or would like to visit.

It was lovely welcoming everyone back to preschool this week.
Next week we will be off to space, designing and creating planets, drawing maps around earth and learning about planets.
