Utility Function:

Eli XO have been told by their record label that they need to step up their game for their next album. They decide to take action & go to a remote location to record with an AI; the latest state of the art intelligent recording studio. As time progresses the band begin to suspect the AI is going above and beyond the call of duty. Is it friend or foe? Is it helping or hindering? Each member of Eli XO interprets the AI differently. But who is right?

Utility Function explores the evolution of AI’s potential and its purpose in the world.

More R and D this week! We’ve been sharing some ideas with each other for . Jack and Tom have been developing approaches to representing AI on stage. Aaron has been researching AI across cultures. Marietta has developed some story ideas to bring our thoughts together.

A very exciting few days and it’s safe to say it feels like we’re cooking on gas!

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve received Arts Council England National Lottery funding to develop a new show about Artificial Intelligence, which in it’s R and D phase is called Utility Function. We can’t wait to get started!
