Most photographers don’t struggle with flash.

But without understanding why the light behaves the way it does, it’s easy to become dependent on formulas.

That’s usually why flash starts to feel inconsistent or overly complicated.

Thanks to the Wales and West Photography Show and Camera Centre UK for putting on such a brilliant event over the weekend.

I felt very proud to be offered a "gig" speaking there and presenting my talk - The Idea of Ideas.

The venue, the International Convention Centre in Newport, was a fantastic location and a stone's throw from my old teaching ground at the University of Wales in Caerleon.
