Job Vacancy: Nursery Kitchen Assistant

Location: Yate
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Working pattern: All year round

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our nursery team at our Yate setting.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring our children receive nutritious, safe and enjoyable meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving food for the children and staff.
• Ensuring all dietary requirements, food allergies and special meal requirements are followed carefully and safely.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Completing laundry duties as required.
• Providing cover for staff lunch breaks.
• Supporting the wider nursery team when needed.

About You

Previous experience working in a kitchen and knowledge of food hygiene would be desirable but are not essential, as full training will be provided.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, organised and responsible.
• Friendly and approachable.
• Able to work well as part of a team.
• Committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.

Gardener – Join Our Growing Nursery Team 🌿

Location: Hanham, Yate, Siston and growing
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm
Additional hours: Some weekend work may be required
Salary: £30,000 per annum

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive, reliable and enthusiastic Gardener to join our growing team across our nurseries.

Our outdoor spaces are an important part of our nurseries, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and is able to use their own initiative to keep our gardens safe, attractive and well maintained.

This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes satisfaction in seeing the results of their work.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Mowing and maintaining grassed areas.
Planting and caring for flowers, shrubs and trees.
Pruning plants, shrubs and trees as required.
Hedge trimming and general garden maintenance.
Weeding and maintaining planting areas.
Using appropriate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Carrying out minor repairs and basic maintenance to gardening equipment.
Keeping gardening tools and equipment clean, safe and in good working order.
Undertaking lifting and manual handling tasks, including moving soil bags and other gardening materials.
Maintaining clean, safe and presentable outdoor areas for children, staff and visitors.
Identifying areas that require attention and taking appropriate action without always needing to be instructed.
Working across our nursery sites as required.

We are looking for someone who:

Is proactive and able to use their own initiative.
Takes genuine pride in their work.
Has excellent attention to detail.
Is reliable, hardworking and well organised.
Enjoys working outdoors and is comfortable with physical, hands-on work.
Can work independently but is also a positive team player.
Has a practical approach to problem-solving.
Understands the importance of maintaining safe and child-friendly outdoor environments.

Requirements

Previous gardening knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential – training can be provided for the right candidate.
A full driving licence is required.
A clear DBS check will be required.
Ability to undertake manual handling and physical gardening tasks.
Willingness to work occasional weekends when required.
