On April 29th 2017 Sophie, Oscar and Sassy will be walking 1200 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats and raising money for Young Minds UK.

On April 29th 2017 Sophie, Oscar and Sassy will be setting off to walk the 1200 (ish) miles from from Land's End in Cornwall to John O'Groats in the North of Scotland. We've chosen to support YoungMinds by raising money and talking about mental wellbeing as we walk. Every penny we raise will go towards empowering and supporting young people, raising awareness and ultimately changing lives. Growing

ABSOLUTELY GUTTED to say that Trailwalker 2018 has just been cancelled due to 'extreme weather conditions'. We were so hyped for this and really sad that we won't be able to take part.

Thank you to everyone who donated. I have been in touch with the organisers and arranging for donations to be refunded as we feel like frauds holding onto donations for something we won't do!

Bring on Trailwalker 2019! For now we have a big pile of snacks to get through so are going to do some kind of big walk this weekend, just not the one we had planned :(

In 19 days time ans , AKA THE GHURKINS, will be walking 60 miles in 30 hours along the South Downs way. It may not sound that far but trust me it is! The route is the equivalent of climbing both Ben Nevis and Snowden and we have to do it non stop through the night. It’s going to be tough. Trailwalker is in aid of the Gurkha Welfare Trust and Oxfam and we need a bit of help from you to make it to the start line. Any donations big or small would be really awesome and make all the blisters worth it!
If you have a mo please have a look at our just giving page. Thanks so much!

The Ghurkins are taking on Trailwalker!

For some crazy reason Sam Selcon Ben Woodhead Oscar J L Davidson & Sophie Beasley have decided to sign up to the Oxfam Trailwalker 2018.

On 13th – 15th July 2018, will be walking 100km along the South Downs Way from Petersfield to Brighton in Under 30 hours. This ultimate test of endurance will be furthest any of us have ever walked in one go before. Plus, the route takes on the equivalent of climbing both Snowden and Ben Nevis, so it’s going to be pretty tough!

Our training has begun and we've just realised how much of a big challenge we've taken on! there will be big blisters! We really need your help to raise some dollar so that we can make it to the start line. Every penny we raise will be used by Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust to help improve lives around the world.

Any donations big or small will be greatly appreciated. With your help, support and encouragement...we might just make it!

On reflection...

It was a dull and wet walk along the River Avon this weekend. Despite the gloom we had interesting things to look at along the very high, fast flowing river!

We keep putting off longer walks for ‘when the weather perks up’ but as that doesn’t seem to be happening any time soon it’s best to just get out there!

We need to get training for our mammoth challenge so rain or shine we’ll have to put the miles in over the coming weeks. and how are you getting on?

It’s great having longer lighter evenings so that we can get out and about on the Downs after work.

Thought we’d have our shorts on by now...but still in our woolly hats! Hurry up warmer weather!
